Telkom promises better broadband

I don't exactly know how Telscum can make promises which they fail to keep. Just to prove my point, I was at Grim's house on Saturday night trying to resolve his issue of trying to connect to the web. We checked using 3 different routers, we tried using 2 accounts and still nothing happened. The telscum dude was apparently there previously that day to try and resolve the problem, and found that his line had been upgraded to 10meg but his line was not stable enough for a connection to the exchange so they eventually dropped him back down to 4meg, and now the fscking line just flaps the whole time.

So now comes the part where we say how do they expect to increase speeds and bandwidth when they cannot resolve their minor problems first. That also includes their call centre btw, it's BS that it's not operating over a weekend, especially since I called them to reset the ports on the line and I get told by a voice message to call back during office hours, I was like WTF!!!.

Anyway that's my rant over, telscum sucks and I wish there was another service provider to go with (excluding Neotel because they are just as hopeless) in order to receive better services...

Welcome to my world.

I'd like to even complain about Telkom, but since moving to an area which they did say had sufficient lines available, I've waited for an installation going on 8 months now.

Telkom can promise until they turn blue in all discernible parts - makes no difference until we actually SEE some improvement!

Telkom promises but don't always necessarily deliver...so I wouldn't get my hopes high too soon. But I'm totally for better broadband. :)

Telkom promises....

Reminds me of Activision promises gamer mod tools, dedicated servers.

All these promises are simply desperate ploys from companies who realise they are starting to lose their majority market share and will now try anything to kerb this. Anybody who has the smallest inkling of Telkoms' infrastructure, or lack thereof will realise that their promise is an impossible one. I suppose the selected areas might see a slight improvement, but what is the point? Why not improve their overall infrastructure to a standard of say 1MB lines? Or maybe increase their footprint geographically where there are plenty of users screaming for broadband?
