The thread dedicated to all things related to Battlefield 3

Battlefield 3 will feature the maximalist combined arms battles that made the series popular across single-player, co-operative and multiplayer modes. It will reintroduce several elements absent from the Bad Company games, including fighter jets, the prone position and 64-player battles on PC. To accommodate the lower player count on consoles, the ground area will be limited for Xbox 360 and PS3, though fly space will remain the same.During an interview with GameInformer Magazine, EA stated that Commander Mode will most likely not be included, which was met with some criticism on the EA forum. Battlefield 3 uses a new type of character animation technology called ANT. ANT technology is used in EA Sports games such as FIFA, but will now be adapted to create a more realistic soldier, with the ability to transition into cover and turn their head before their body.

The game will feature maps set in Paris, Tehran, Sarajevo, Sulaymaniyah, New York, Wake Island and Oman. As a whole, combat will take place in urban streets, metropolitan downtown areas, and open landscapes suited to vehicle combat. The single player campaign takes place in the year 2014.

I can't help but rewatch that glorioius first level at least once a week. So amped for this and it's still only May:(
 
Can't wait it's been awhile since i've been this excited about a fps
What would be more awsum if they made the campaign like 2-4 player co op aswell
You can never go wrong with co op, but multiplayer will rock :D
 
I wonder if the BETA is still only for MOH players... Hopefully they give a week of open BETA. If anything, it should help the wait till November.

I kinda have my doubts about that, I can run BC2 on max, but looking at requirements like Witcher 2, and comparing it to BC3 just makes me weep at the thought of what you'll need:(

try setting the resolution higher in BC2 and see if you can still run it on max.
 
After showing the faultline footage to my sister, even she can't wait for BF3 to get here! At least I have a decent amount of time to still save up for and upgrade my trusty mule of a pc.
I really think that the tech they've brought in from some of EAs sports titles looks promising and should add just a little bit more realism to the experience.
 
Battlefield 3 will most likely kill the CoD series finally imo, especially if the rumors about MW3 being subscription are true (have they already confirmed or denied that btw? I havent checked in a while :s)

Seems to be confirmed, although its not as bad as most had thought, all the features from previous COD titles will be there. What the premium content will end up being is really anyone guess at this stage.
 
i'm looking forward to this. BC2 is still great fun and i'm sure i'll play 3 for a long time aswell

Ah, not sure how others feel but for me this just puts it on the list of games that I wont be buying, BF3 all the way for me then :)
 
As someone who only recently started playing Bad Company 2, I'm really looking forward to this. Altho there are really a lot of good games coming out soon that I'm looking forward to, going to be difficult to find the time :/
 
love too see some multiplayer action?!!!
but will need a new screen card for all the loveliness on screen!
