Hey all im new to this whole forum thing, so I thought id start with this post. Id like to know what your go to songs, bands, artists are. These must be the ones that give you the thrills, chills or pump you up when playing your favourite game."whistling:

Almost any rave music works with any game, eg.

works with anything.
 
I hardly use music other than what the game came with. Its either that I need to hear whats going on, for example, in Battlefield 4 or the game music adds atmosphere to the game. But its nice to have with twitch shooters like Quake and Unreal. Then its nice fast metal, keeps me going.
 
+1 to the game's soundtrack or ambient sounds. Developers spend tons of money to make sure the sounds and music add to the atmosphere. Imagine listening to random music whilst watching an Oscar-winning movie - it just doesn't work. For random relaxing games (like Minesweeper or Solitaire) which I never have time for anymore, I listen to prog metal.
 
Awesome to hear guys. I know some dont listen and thats fine but i wana know what your favourite music is and who its made by when you do:cool:
 
I mostly put on music when I'm playing an ARPG like Grim Dawn or Diablo, but sometimes I'll listen to music while playing something like Borderlands. I just put my media player on shuffle, don't have a specific preference for music while playing a game. My playlist consists mainly of metal bands like Kalmah, Insomnium, Agothodaimon, Mors Pricnipium Est, Fragments of Unbecoming, etc., but I also have some some other genres in there.
 
I enjoy a high degree of immersion in the games that I play. Playing my own music breaks this immersion.

As [MENTION=297]FarligOpptreden[/MENTION] mentioned, in mindless games like solitaire, my own music works well but never in RPGs, FPSs or even strategy games.

Guys please let me know about the music i understand some dont use music and thats fine but i want to know what music people do listen to specifically when they do .. Thanks guys
 
My favourite genres are:

Rap
Trap
Electronica
Rock

Usually in that order.

I listen to other genres, but those are the main.
 
i only enjoy music when playing open world games,
most games have pretty nice soundtracks like Gta v you get to enjoy different genres and explore new ones.
 
I enjoy going on YouTube and listening to 90's hits (can't touch this MC Hammer being the one I listen to most) and generally it's for any game that doesn't require a lot of my attention :)
