The best graphics cards you can buy for under R2,500

I would not even bother with a GTX 750 ti at this point. Go for a RX 460 or perhaps wait for the supposed GTX 1050. Although AMD seems to be slowly creeping into the lead with DirectX 12 and XBONE/WIN10 cross-platform compatibility.

AMD is good with the RX 470/80, but the 460 is not that high of a performer tbh. If you buy a new low budget gaming pc then yes, upgrade no. Suppose it will be the same with the upcoming 1050. Which older tech card compares with the RX 460? The Nvidia 960?

No, the 960 is way faster than the RX 460. The 950 would be a better comparison.

Ahh I see, thanks. Then it would make sense to rather opt for a carbonite 960 if the price is right. But I will only upgrade next year, my 760 is still good enough for my space sims.

Not a bad call if you can live with it for now. There will be newer options next year as well, including AMD's new Vega cards.
