theres all these threads about consoles, what about portable consoles?

I say PSP rules because it has a big screen, can play music, movies, games, has big flash card support, and has a wide range of games
 
So the Wii is very popular...it still sucks. Sales don't really count because more than half the worlds population are idiots.

Please please PLEASE don't bring the Xbox 360-type argument to the table. Sales mean nothing. I agree with ^^ because it is true that half the world's population are idiots. I am not insulting you at all, I am purely saying that sales do not determine quality.
 
Wateva. Anyway I have both and used the PSP more. Music, UMD movies and better graphics were the main reasons. DS was fun but with limited good titles.
 
The psp does have good graphics but as we know graphics doesnt make games good ! I'v had a psp and IMO the psp only ends up getting scaled down versions of major sony frachises most of the time unlike the ds which is innovative with games like brain training and gauntlet. Sony made alot of flops with the psp like cracking screens (happened to me once) and UMD thats why most movie companies dropped UMD as a movie format and thats why the psp 2.0 according to sony will not have a UMD drive.

Sony Kills PSP UMD Format.. PSP 2 Wont Have It!

It would seem that the PSP UMD format has finally met its ending. VideoETA is reporting that the PSP 2 will not support the UMD format and this is a huge blow to PSP movie fans. Although SONY recently released a few new titles to PSP including Quarantine I have never understood the format or the attraction of buying PSP movies considering the expense of the format.

According to videoETA the PSP 2 will not have the battery sucking UMD format which means all of you who have PSP movies will not be using your psp movies on your PSP2. Considering for $10 you can buy software that converts dvd to psp format I never understood why anyone bought PSP movies in the first place.

The new Playstation Portable won't feature a UMD disc drive, according to Acclaim developer David Perry.

"I hear Sony FINALLY has the PSP 2. And thank goodness, they've removed the stupid battery-sucking UMD disc drive. I'm excited!" Perry wrote on both his Twitter and Facebook accounts.

I have both handhelds and find myself having more fun with my DS. The thumbstick on the PSP becomes mighty uncomfortable after a while.
 
Ye, well the guys in the other thread earlier today tried to cause a scene as well and TM had to lock the thread in the end.

I have had a PSP and played on a DS. The PSP is by far more technically advanced and its games are great with good graphics, etc. One quirk is that the thumb stick eventually causes discomfort. What I found is that the DS is made for 'fun' and that is exactly what I experienced when playing on it. Fun: DS > PSP. Technology: PSP > DS.
 
I honestly think that's Sony's problem as of late. They're choosing Technology/bragging rights over fun factor/price and it's hurting them. Badly.
