OMG just want to shout. this game is in serious need of patching.
AI is fking retarded running up and down or just randomly gets stuck.
Sound is also messed up on some places where the ambient noise is so loud that you can't hear anything that the person is saying.
Mass effect 1 feel to it.

Its pretty fun just a bit slow your character has this running animation yet it feels like a slow walk inside the base. loads of info but too long sometimes. Will play it some more when its patched.

Thanks, now I don't have to go through a full 3 page review to read why it got mediocre scores in reviews. Guess they don't have play testers anymore in this modern age.

Your welcome this game could have been so fun but the ai just ruins it.
 
The base navigation does seem a bit dull.
Presentation is not as dramatic as the ME series. :(

On the AI issue. The AI needs to be micromanaged.
You have to queue/stack their movements and actions.
Highlight the path to take to the cover, else it's a straight dash.

The "random" running out of cover is due to several reasons:
1. An enemy is moving to flank, they will always try to face the nearest enemy, often exposing themselves to further away aliens.
2. Incoming grenades (and the enemy throws a lot of nades) cause your AI team to panic. Heck I would too, if a volley of nades come my way. On veteran difficulty, one grenade is enough to leave you on the floor. :eek:
3. When you are too far away, they will try to catch to you. Straight line dash.
4. Straight line dashes often gets them suck, because of all the stuff in the way.

Now you know how much micromanaging there is :D
If you go think you can give one or two order and go on shooting, you are going to have a bad time.
(I)Think this is why reviewers gave it such a low score. This is not a 3rd person shooter, it's a 3rd person battle instructor with the occasional shooting :p

I'm ~10hours into the game on veteran and I've yet to lose an AI squad due to running mishaps :D
I'd give it 7/10.

I don't mind having to manage them because I have had to do that in many games from mass effect to company of heroes to highway to hell and so forth. Its just omg AI stop being so stupid

10hours for this game is not a lot seeing as how slow everything is.
 
Looks like another charlie tested (paid consumer) game :( I hope they fix it for your guys sake. I love the XCOM series, but I was suspicious of this title after the major redesign.

Edit: It's really risky business pre-ordering these days.

Yeah I was taking a change with it.

Okay I found out why my character where so slow and getting stuck mid air seems there was a file missing.
 
10hours for this game is not a lot seeing as how slow everything is.

Lol, finished the game on ~14hours
Have to say, the ending game play is rather well done.

Will stick with my previous score of 7/10
Unfortunately replay value = 0 :(

Glad you found the missing file. :)
