I found this series on YouTube, its called The Computer Chronicles, not sure if it ever aired in South Africa. Its not up to date, it ran from 1983 to 2002. So for current news, its not even remotely up to date, but for a look back into how we came to where we are today, its amazing.
There are some great episodes, speculating about which network technology would become the standard, OS2 Warp being punted as the Windows killer, BBSs, every new CPU architecture being released. Storage for one is almost laughable, compared to today, never mind CPU speeds.
I wonder how things will look in about 30 years time, look back to today.
