Well because we had to communicate, stick together, watch for flanking mobs, tell each other about shotgunner coming from behind etc. Now that is fun.
CCing mobs as they walk out of a static spawn point and nailing em all down asap is not fun.
I wish that the game had random spawn points, that small change would really force people to actually have situational awareness and turn a *yawn* guaranteed win into a scramble to survive.
Yeah a agree with your first point. But considering there are only three missions to do on challenging you get to know it really quickly and easily. As soon as the first wave is dealt with people instinctively run to take positions at the next phase and just focus fire on the spawn locations. That's not enjoyable and starts to feel monotonous and tedious (ie a grind). And that's when I loose interest.
