Ag please. You guys do realise games are not going to cost the magical R300 forever seeing where RSA is going, right? Perhaps it is time to stop voting ANC and get a [better] job?
Who else was quick to blow 1K on BF4?
On the other hand it is kinda funny seeing Lycan complain about the pricing, but he is quick to part with a lot of money for a few kickstaters. How then is it possible that he can't part with at least 50 usd for the title?
I wonder...
I think gamers in general should give on playing betas as they just don't have a concept of what pre-alpha, alpha, beta, rtm/gold is. Perhaps get into the real world of development first. Yes programmer complex is strong with this one.
Perhaps some fool at the dev department forgot to put on the * please wait queue * logo. I mean out of all the betas in our existence eso was the first to have bugs and make you wait, right?
But yes eso gets special love

I have played games in alpha that have better loading times
but then again probably not on this scale.

Necuno - i am currently participating in a fair few beta's where even their stress tests ran smoother than this one. I dont mind forking out R400 -R500 for a good game, but currently it is not in my budget to spend R150 + per month extra on a game, when I can use that and grab other games rather.
I am giving up on all sub based games for the foreseeable future, simply because my studies have gone up in price there fore I cannot afford as much for gaming as I would have before.

Neah mate, I feel as if they are just using the name to rake in millions and they most likely will.
When the game launches and it is awesome, then I'll look at it, I don't mind paying for awesome games, but from what I've read and seen this isn't exactly awesome..lol Will reserve final judgement for when it launches.
Well, I for one am happy that I dished out my hard earned cash for the Imperial Edition. I am going to love this game LONG TIME!!! The monthly subs don't bother me either. I am very selective what I play and what I pay for.

As someone who has done this at more than a few MMO launches, let me impart some polished up old advice: don't.
After being disappointed at EVERY new MMO release during the first week, sitting around, waiting for queues, waiting for last second patches, waiting in line to kill the first mob you need in the starting area...
You get the idea. I would say, take leave from the 3rd day on or so to be safer.
Or maybe take leave, spend the first day or 2 with your wife, then play ;-P

I can agree with this sentiment 100%. After this weekend I am at least convinced to play the free month, after that we will see.

The game play was all over the place. Sometimes when using my cleave it does damage and sometimes cleave does nothing at all. A lot of the times this might have been ping related is when you need to interrupt something but before you could he is already attacking again.
One battle in particular was fun when me, Frudi and Isengard took on a level 14 champ and keeped him knocked down by rotating our knockdowns.
Overall can't judge since it might have all been ping related,

I did the 20gb download and played about 2 hours on Friday night then switched it off and uninstalled.
While its nice to see something that a bit more twitch based than say WoW or GW2 this is not what I want out of an TES game. Getting forced into a class with little unlock put me off straight away, I want Skyrim style open gameplay with the freedom to shape my character how I see fit using the skills that I want.
IMO not worth the retail price & subscription. If it was one or the other maybe. I have a feeling this is going to go SWTORO and become F2P in a year or so then maybe I will revisit.

One thing I did manage to do was make me play Skyrim again.

I also had the same urge to get back into Skyrim again. In fact as I was playing ESO I found myself thinking that I'd rather just play Skyrim with a few new mods.

Perfectly said, which just echoes what I said about the game, I so badly want to like it and own it but I just don't see the point in spending cash on something that will be f2p in 10 months after launch.
