The Elder Scrolls Online

So I joined my old guild and went with them on a pvp run. WOW does my Templar heal well, flip it was fun!

Im keen to run some of the new content this weekend. So far the changes they have made in the last year have been epic.

I bought the 14EUR console transfer deal, so now i think i'm just going to wait a month until it release on Xbox One/PS4 and play it on there ;)

In my case, my PC is starting to struggle playing these games properly on full resolution , and my Xbox One is kinda that upgrade for now. Thing is, with Windows 10 you can already stream your Xbox Games to your PC , so I can see a few reasons to go that route.

Keen to give this another try. But I'm firmly on the GW2 train at the moment, so I'll save ESO for a rainy day :)

So I am fully converted back into ESO! I am loving this game more than when I played a little under a year go. The changes are really good and 1 of the biggest changes is ZERO! spam or bots. I am also loving all the content. Did my 1st trail runs last week and Im almost VR14 now. If ever there was a time to get back into the game, now is that time.

So finally hit VR14 and been running DragonStar Arena. Man what an awesome instance! Its has 9 stages and a final boss big boss stage. All stages are different settings and mob/bosses. At the end of each round there is a big chest with random loot and a final chest where there is a chance for the unique master weapons drop. If you are VR12 and looking to push those last 2 levels, this is the place to do it, just give urself around 1:30hrs to complete it.

Does it matter which Alliance i join? Just created a new char aligned with Ebonheart but not sure if it was the right choice.

Err...yes, each alliance have its own campaign entirely all the way to lvl 50 (it's not like WoW where you only have starter zones and then "share" zones) . Once you finish the main alliance campaign you can then move over to the the other alliance's campaign and play that as lvl 50 -> VR levels (instead of lvl 1). During all this, you can't interact with your buddies if they're not in the same alliance.

I don't know if they improved this "flaw", but unlike WoW where everyone is in the same "phase" , in ESO you are always in your alliance's phase, and you can only see your own alliance..even if you are in another alliance area. The only place you mingle with the other alliances is that PvP map in the middle...

So i think it is quite important while you are leveling to pick an alliance where your friends are in.

At lvl 50 and dungeon runs, i'm not sure what the restrictions are there.

To put it another way, you WILL be playing all the aliances campaigns -eventually- . So it probably does not matter which one you start with, unless you don't plan to play much further than lv \l50 (then it is easier to create 3 chars and play each campaign from lvl1-50) . So there are a lvl 1-50 version of each campaign and a lvl 50+++ version of each campaign.

Thanks, thats what i was worried about not being able to group with local okes which i think are mostly AD. bah, i would have been one of the few bosmers running around in the Ebon starting zones. :/

Yea i also found it out the hard way, you see this gigantic world map and think you will probably be able to travel to the other alliances at say lvl 20+ and maybe play in those zones or with your buddies. but you can't. The only way you can open up the entire map for a single character is to play past lvl 50 and play a lvl 50 scaled version of the other alliances campaigns...which itself implies you will never see any lowbies since it is scaled to your level....and even at lvl 50 you STILL will not see the other alliances in your campaign.

ESO actually have a crapload of content if you consider each alliance have enough quests and zones to take you all the way to lvl 50. You can play 3 alts, and never see the same content, however i think the quests does become very similar at times, just different main NPCs .

I do believe they DID add a few veteran zones that are "shared" , i remember one zone was added with all these "elite" type of content (entire zone of just group content)...if i'm not mistaken you could do this with buddies from different alliances...but i'm not sure. Still this is all "end-game" stuff, below lvl 50, you will be stuck with people in your alliance and the same quest arcs.

Awesome well im on Ebon as well and part of a massive guild. We organize trial runs nearly on a daily basis, so if u need an invite just let me know and ill invite u.

So there were different phasing issues back when the game was launched. Based on certain decisions u made in the game, the map would change and u wouldn't be able to see ur friends if they were on different parts of the quest. I believe this has been sorted so u can always group up with friends and not worry about it. Now regarding being on different factions, u can talk to ur mates in game, but due to them being in a different faction u wont be able to group with them and the only place u can actually interact with them is in cyrodill (PVP).

When u complete ur story, u will get the opportunity to run the other 2 faction's stories called "Cadwells Silver and Cadwells Gold". This to a great extent will be the last solo areas u will have, everything after that happens in craglorn which is mainly group content. Depending on ur character, u will be able to solo a lot of it, but it will be challenging. I see a lot of guys group up in 2s and at least 1 person will have a restoration staff equipped to help with healing boss fights.

If this game had launched like this I don't think I would have stopped playing. But I guess that's the nature of the beast and at least they have made some amazing improvements over the last year.

I was thinking of rolling HE -sorc. Not sure of faction or build yet.

If you planning on getting him to max level, doesn't matter which faction then. You will eventually do all the stories, which is cool. If you planning on grouping then maybe see who is where.

Ended up going with a DK Dunmer on DC because i like the layout of Daggerfall. I'll mess around with the sorc and NB when time allows.

DKs are actually insane at the moment. U can tank and push out mad DPS at the same time! And as with any MMO tanks and healers are always in high demand lol. I just got to drop a message in zone V14 Healer LFG Gold Pledge and I get an invite inside a minute.

I'm also on Daggerfall Covenant. Only level 15 at the moment. Breton Healer. I usually group with 2 family members, you're welcome to join in if you like. We play causally but we've been putting in a lot of time lately. We're enjoying it a lot.

The game is great, it really is. Hopefully after the console release we will start getting new content again. I think the console release has seriously hampered PC players getting new content...

Looks cool but I'll need to buy a new internet before I can partake. Really enjoyed the predecessors!
