The Elder Scrolls Online

If the box is the F2p version of the game "tamriel unlimited" , then it shouldn't be too much patching. The game is however quite big , I believe about 40gb download, from scratch, hence patches being fairly large . My console download is at 50% after a full day of downloading, so will only get to play in day or 2 . :c .

damn, why everyone so huge these days.

Lol I said the download would at least be 5gb. Such is the nature of gaming these days.

The only issue I had with the 6GB patch is the fact that it started when the game was updated 93%. In other words, it was downloading a bunch of smaller files after installing from the discs (about 100 - 300mb per file) which was going at a good pace and then out of nowhere it starts downloading a 6GB file at 93%.

EDIT: Now it's done downloading and I still can't play. Redeemed my code and everything but when I try to log in it says computer not authorised and that it's sending an access code via e-mail. I've tried it twice no (waiting about 10 min each time) and I am not getting any e-mail.

Ye I had that before, the mail will eventually come through. Just don't keep resending. If it doesn't come through after like an hour then resend.

I can only guess with the console players, their network could be taking strain.

Yeah I got the mail about 15 minutes ago. Only about 3 hours too late. [emoji14]

Hopefully I don't have this issue again tonight.

I finally managed to get into the game on my Xbox One. Surprisingly alot of people, looks like the PC launch where you enter a cave and you just see dead corpses everywhere (players killing everything before you're there).

Must say, it does plays quite well on console, being MMO and all. Probably even easier with a controller than keyboard. Even though my lvl 50 VR char was copied across to console, i am replaying with a new character....all my skills were reset and well got no idea what to do with it all heh, so will probably switch to it when i get my groove.

I did notice my main is still a vampire with that ability to turn other players into vampires once every 7days...so if someone desperately wants to become a vampire on the xbox one EU server lemme know, i might still have a free bite ;-). Back in the PC days, vampire was considered OP and becoming one actually did cost a pretty penny. Alternately you can consider becoming a werewolf, not sure if they balanced that out.

Awesome, glad u finally got in! It seems that old ZOS hasn't been able to cope with the massive influx of players. So hopefully that will all stabilize soon.

I have literally been respeccing at least once a week, fine tuning and tweaking my character. I also noticed yesterday that I have 4 points per research armour class that I don't need any more, so im gonna be respeccing again to free those points up.

Did my 1st Sanctum of Ophidia run last night, wow what an awesome trial and that last boss is vicious!

Also managed to play a few hour last night. I'm quite enjoying it so far. I rolled a Nord Dragon Knight, which I'm liking a lot, and I played until level 6.

Do the quests scale to your character level in this game? Everywhere I look I see more quests and I don't see any level requirements like the other MMO's I tried had.

The lvl 1-50 "phase" each zone is basically a fixed level range , much like you would find in WoW (i.e. all quests in a given zone is doable if you are in certain level range). It will not scale to you, so if you skip too many things you will eventually run into a zone being "under-leveled" and start to struggle. So there are no restriction in picking up the quest, but another story whether you can complete it...

I know Zenimax made some sort of effort to make the game more "immersive", so they hide some of the "technical" detail . I think the quests have a color range instead of a lvl range, i.e. yellow/red/white/grey to indicate whether you are in its range, but mostly you have to go on the mob levels off the zone itself.

Now that said, once you hit lvl 50 and/or finish the main story campaign, you can "replay" the other 2 factions' campaign, THEN the zones will scale to lvl 50. So if you rolled say, Ebonheart Pact , you will play a standard Ebon campaign from lvl 1-50 with zones being lowbie level ranges. After that, you can then play say , the Daggerfall Covenant campaign , but then the starter zone will suddenly be lvl 50, and next zones will be VR rank 1 , 2 ,3 etc etc. If you feel you rather want to experience the Daggerfall campaign as a lowbie, then you need to roll a new character etc etc.

Anyway, as for the campaigns itself, i still feel, the Daggerfall covenant has the best starting experience (the desert oasis zone). For some reason it has quest types that i did not find in the other campaigns' starter zones (like that riddle-treasure-hunt quest line ).

Awesome, thanks dude! :D

Will probably play around with some other classes and such a bit later, but so far I'm very happy with my Nord.

Oh another tip, something not always explained :

The skills you put on your action bar...ONLY those will "level" while you get xp, likewise with your weapon/armor . Not sure if it changed since i played last, but we used to swop out all skills/gear right before handing in a quest with alot of xp reward , in order to level them.

So if you are playing with a 2h sword and want to level your destruction staff, you need to actually hold it when you get xp.
