The Elder Scrolls Online

This is rather upsetting.. getting from work, then trying to login with a maintenance message which just started.. and this is not the first time it happens in EU prime time.

I just noticed Game of Thrones Season 4 has started yesterday, guess i have something else to do :)

Server status says server is up but cannot login, just gets stuck requesting login. Oh well, guess its a D3 night ;-)

Yea, same. Login Timeout.

Even their forums are full of crap, constantly timing out or something.

I see there's actually a patch now, so probably need to kill the game to install the patch.

/sigh FFS, now it wants a new authorization code, and guess what? No email. I thijnk i'm just going to go to bed and cry . :-(

I had that same authentication required and the email was taking ages. So I tried to log in again and it allowed me in without the code...

I guess this is all part of the teething phase.

But when I compare this launch to many others it really has been really good. SWTOR had countless startup issues, Diablo (although not an mmo, but large enough) had server issues for ages.

I think this new clustering system they have is really good, its a lot easier to add to a cluster and split the load then to create a new server and move ppl to it. I cant wait till they move EU players to proper EU servers. My guess is that they waiting to see how the numbers pane out so that they can scope the amount of servers needed.

What is more unacceptable is the fact that the EU server is still in the USA and they expect us to pay in euros?

Apparently you can request for this to be changed. I noticed when I activated my account that I am paying in $$$ and not euros

Well at this rate we might as well play on the usa server and pay in dollars. The euro server is not only in the usa, but even npcs are popping out in random german, nevermind the amount of non english chatter going on. There is a reason why companies made german specific servers for other games.

I played most of yesterday when the server came back up, but it was weird until late last night. There was a strange login issue where it would crash you to the login screen with an unknown error. Then when you did get in there were a lot of NPCs that didn't spawn. At about 10 or 11 it all settled down and started to run fine.

Had I known the EU server was in USA I would have just signed up for that for the cheaper experience and I found some guild on there I would loved to have joined.

Well I would prefer a lower latency where possible. Whitey has found some vendors where u can buy gamecards for Aussie dollars which should help those paying in euros.

The latency isn't that different though if both EU and US servers are located in the US itself.

From what I understand and tested with other games, when playing in the US the usual response times are 350ms+ but from EU 200ms+. So that difference for me is really noticeable.

I agree, but the European megaserver isn't in Europe.

However, apparently they are going to transfer operation to a proper euro server some time down the line.

Yip I know they currently in the US, hence my original comment.
