The Firewatch Thread

Fuck me this story is so damn immersive. I have to force myself to stop, as I have to go to work just now. Loving this "game".

Was the same. Promised myself "just a quick look to make sure it installed okay". 2 hours later the Missus was reminding of the early start this morning. :)

So who started playing it? I'm up to Day 79 iirc at around 1am this morning when I called it a night, shit is getting tense now. Can't wait to get home and finish it.

I started last night and played about 2 hours, i think. So far i'm loving this game

So is this something that someone who just watches the gameplay would be interested in ?

Thinking of getting it on PS4, GF might enjoy watching this

I'd think so. I'm sure she'll be especially interested in seeing the choices you make in the game intro. :)

Yeah, I'm thinking of doing the same. Most definitely a spectator, couch back seat driver thing.

Just done too. Really enjoyed it. Terrific voice acting, love the art style. Worth the price of admission. Will definitely play through it again in a few months. Even if it's only to take better pictures. :)

I really enjoyed playing it and i'll definitely play it again.

Spoiler: show
Even though you don't get to meet Delilah i think the ending was pretty good IMO

Couldn't agree more. Definitely worth the price, and I would be willing to say I would happily pay up R300 for the title.

This game is why I enjoy games. I love being on an adventure, something that would never be able to do in real world stuck behind a desk in a hot office surrounded by yammering idiots going on about so many mundane things you want to exit using the nearest window 7 stories up...errr sorry, mental fart.

I'm about 3 hours in, the dialogue between you and the Dialila is so natural and interesting. The game, even though its not a Far Cry or Crysis competitor, looks freaking great and fresh, those vistas....breathtaking. Story has also got me hooked, hiking around doesnt bother me as there are great things to see and find.

This game, so far at least, feels really well put together. This is what I love about gaming, adventures!

The ending....

Spoiler: show
The game was building up to something great, kept building tension and more tension, then the end... I felt sorry for the little boy, really tugged at my heartstrings, having little monster myself. But meh, I donnu, maybe I am too used to gung-ho story lines filled with aliens or legions of demons trying to kill me.
Still, happy I bought it. Probably a game I wont forget playing. Will play it again.

Had a nice adventure and enjoyed that, story was very, very well told and the voice active superb. Game looked great too as I said before.

Indeed. I'll probably play through it with the gf at some point.

Really gave me a sense that one of the devs or story writer had dealt with similar issues. But I loved the game overall, not all stories have to have closure!

I beat this one last night. What an incredible experience, just walking around and talking to Delilah and soaking in the atmosphere of the forest.

The ending
Spoiler: show
really disappointed me. The whole thing with the major conspiracy turning out to be some sad wreck of a father playing mind games with Henry and Delilah so they wouldn't find him seemed pointless. And then, why didn't Ned clear away the body of his son, when he clearly must have known he was down there in the cave? I don't think he killed him, and he must have placed the bag with the cave key for Henry to find, so what's the deal? Oh yea there's my dead son's corpse with his skull crushed in. And Delilah turned out to be just... what... using Henry to fill in the time or get some kind of emotional relief from her disaster of a relationship with Javier? Henry was quite manipulated by everyone in the game, and now he has to go back home and face his shell of a wife. It felt like nothing was resolved or even helped by his time in the woods, and in the end it was just about lonely paranoid self-destructive people.
