The Gay DC comic hero is...

Ah well this just sucks donkey balls!! :(

Green Lantern is full of awesomeness!! But wait in the movie he hooked up with that chick whatsherface!! So he can't be Gay??

I think this is a good thing, accepting other peoples sexuality in entertainment is the first step to it being accepted in society in general. Although I personally would have thought Aqua-man was gay.

Now just to wait for some right wing activist group to call for the banning of comic books.

No you tit! The Greenlantern in the film (which was SHIT btw) was Hal Jordan, one of the original Green Lanterns (Silver Age) with Alan Scott being the original (Golden Age). Earth 2 is an alternative universe, so Golden Age Alan Scott from Earth 1 is still straight.

Dont try and understand it, just remember.

How about that hey. Interesting that they are making gay super heroes, and why not I say, but it seems like a kind of parallel universe vibe or something...

But purists and fans note: This Green Lantern is not the emerald galactic space cop Hal Jordan who was, and is, part of the Justice League and has had a history rich in triumph and tragedy.

Instead, said James Robinson, who writes the new series, Alan Scott is the retooled version of the classic Lantern whose first appearance came in the pages of "All-American Comics" No. 16 in July 1940.

"This was my idea," Robinson explained this week, noting that before DC relaunched all its titles last summer, Alan Scott had a son who was gay.

But given "Earth 2" features retooled and rebooted characters, Scott is not old enough to have a grown son.
"By making him younger, that son was not going to exist anymore," Robinson said.

Ah ok I was going to say it would be rather counter character if Hal Jordan was suddenly gay since he is kinda the 'playboy' type of guy.

I won't understand it but yes I will remember it :D.

Btw yes the movie was a disappointment, however the choice of Hal Jordan was awesome though :D, I rate Ryan Reynolds highly.

Reynolds was probably the perfect pick for Hal, petty the got everything else in the movie wrong.

It is an alternate reality called Earth 2, its the Deus Ex machina that allows Comic books to revamp there characters from time to time.

Yeah, Was really hoping that they would pull a Marvel and give us an awesome movie.... how wrong I was.

Heheheh Sycoboi. The film was not the best film ever, but it also just serve as the first of a trilogy. I am sure that the rest will be better. Also, yes Reynolds was an awesome Hal Jordan. I am a bit undecided as to if I prefer him as Deadpool though...

As far as a gay superhero goes, who the hell cares? Things like these are already all over TV and other media forms, why should comic books be any different. The X-Men thing last month was really hyped up a lot more than it should have been.

I shudder (not in a good way) to think of the things he's going to be imagining to defeat his enemies.

There wont be a second or 3rd movie, the first one was a major flop so I think they scrapped the others.

Things be heating up in this thread.

I don't mind a Gay hero.As long as romance isn't involved or is kept to a minimum,i'll prob watch it.

Why? Are you scared teh gay tendrils are going to come out of the book and turn you gay?

Honestly, what makes reading a comic book in which the protagonist has a gay romance so much different than a comic book in which the protagonist has a heterosexual romance?

*brrrrrrrrrring bring*

'Hello? This is the 21st century. Can you catch up with us already?'

You can't tell other people to respect people's preferences and then complain about someone's preference.

If someone doesn't want to watch or read something where the protagonist is gay, that is their choice. Just because you would rather not watch it doesn't mean you think it shouldn't exist.

I'm just surprised people still have issues with homosexuality. It's pretty much the same as saying 'I'm not going to read that because it has a black protagonist'.

I'm not. People always fussing what is going with outer people's sexuality, religion. One look at the thread title already had me wondering if this was an exclamation of something.

I have no problem with this but didn't marvel do something similar years ago?
