The Golf Shot Thread

Roomys

Will post for beer
Hey guys,

I love golf and everything golf, so i decided to start this thread for it, post any scorecards ( in RL or in game :P ) videos, pics hell w/e.

Ill be updating it regularly and will post a pic of my clubs ( all of them ) at some point.

Lets start this off though with something from Rory, which i found amazing and hilarious!

Havent got any scorecards or anything but my most memorable shot was chipping the ball straight into the hole even though all I could see was the top of the flag cause of the hill :D.

I remember walking around there trying to find where my ball went then checked in the hole and was surprised it was there.

Edit: Loved the robot

Still need to practise my driving its not too great compared to my putting and chipping.

I use Dunlop golf clubs, which ones do you have?

I have a Callaway Diablo Driver, a custom made 21* iron for my 3 wood shots and a set of Callaway X16 Irons.

I started off with the Dunlop DDH set myself, perfect set for when your just starting out, i however like the irons more than rescue clubs though, which is why i bought the callaways.

I have shot some better golf days with the Dunlop's than i have with the callaways, so clubs never fool or intimidate me when i see them :)

Where about are you, we should have a round together!

Months since my last round and this thread ain't helping my desire to get back out there sooner rather than later :(

In my bag I have a set of 4 Cobra woods. Driver, 3 , 5 and 7. The driver is a 9.5 degree loft. Ping irons, steel shaft, quite old and missing the 4 iron. I seldom play with the 3 iron anymore.

My putter is a simple blade and I have had it since day 1. My sister found it somewhere and got it second hand. It has no special markings for aiming, weighting it or the like, it's all about feel and rhythm. It still works brilliantly for me and I have no intention of replacing it. Maybe just a new grip.

I also have a left hand 5-iron in bag too. It's come in useful on a number of occasions. Best hit with it was +/-170 - 180 metres. That was an awesome moment for me.

In PMB and sometimes go to the Victoria Country Club, Hayfields or Cedara.

Havent actually played for 4 years since my brother went oversees since we use to play for fun together.

Victoria was my home club. Brings back good memories.

Hayfields or MGC, is it still a goat track or have they improved the fairways? It's probably the course I played most when I was in PMB.

Others in the surrounds, which I enjoyed playing:

- Sakabula
- Kloof
- Cotswold Downs,
- Richmond
- Mooi River

And further a field from Maritzburg, I like:

- the Wild Coast
- Southbroom (special because I played my best round ever there)
- Princes Grant
- Umdoni

When we played on the Hayfields the fairways were very well maintained and nice, but not sure how it is now :D

Would love to try Champagne Sport's Resort in the central berg.

Nice i am in Kloof, so not too far away! Member at Kloof country club but will be joining Cotswold downs at the end of this year. Where are you now McT are you still Durban side or?

If you want to have a game guys lets do it, would be fun to put faces to interwebs chatters!

I'm based in Joburg, so rarely get a chance to play in/around Durban. Still some my best memories on a course come from your neck of the woods.

In Joburg I haven't been playing much but have got around a bit. Parkview has been good for me. Eagle Canyon, CMR, Randpark, Glendower and Reading are some of the clubs I have played and enjoyed. Still exploring. Still looking at different courses.

Nice!! I love golf, though I may have a bit of a short temper when playing golf. The last round I played was last week at Irene Golf Club. Very nice course. Shot a 87, which for me is very good. But the day didn't end well for me. After I sliced my final drive, I may have accidentally broken my shaft on my Tailor Made Burner 2 driver. It's getting fixed this week luckily.

So I see that there are a lot of Durban players, but what about Gauteng?

Also, I am with PlayMoreGolfSA. Been with them now for 7 months. So far I am not that impressed with their whole service.

Centurion here as well, although I play most of my golf in the Free State as I play league for a club there. The lowest handicap I have been at was a 2, but sadly I do not have all the time anymore :(

I was lucky enough to have had a hole-in-one though :D Some people still don't believe me when I tell them it was on a par 4...

Are you able to spin your golf ball when it lands?
