The Great Chaos Experiment

Xero

Official Zombie Slayer
We have been discussing an experimental server type lately, one that we fondly refer to inhouse as The Chaos Server for now.
The Concept of this is to have one server per game where ANYTHING is allowed, ie swearing etc and that is in no way governed by any admin or supported via our normal support channels.

Reasoning -

Allows Players to Play the game they feel they must, ie swearing at each other etc.

May be an effective tool at focusing guys who normally cause trouble on other servers on one single server

Cuts down on the amount of time admins need to respond to complaints about one guy calling another guy something or other

Creates the possibility of seeing the first guy ever to be called out on a game server
"Come over to Chaos 01 I want to call you a ####"

Anyone think the reasoning is flawed?
Or
Should we give it a try on CoD and see if any of the above is true

Yes...first reply, because I'm bored etc etc.

So this is like a prison server? Send all the "bad guys" over to this one? Hahaha, sounds quite hectic dude...would murder also be encouraged on this server? Not that the people that play COD get all bloodlusty anyway, but you know what I mean :P

Anyhow, if you want to see how an experiment like this goes down, just go play on any SGS game server. That's the end result right there.

lol true, but we reckoned specifically for cod and the bc2 guys, who we know use the age restriciton excuse as well as the excuse that they can speak to their friends how they want so many times that my eyes have physically started bleeding from reading the same excuses over and over after a ban

Can you tune the admins on there if they venture inside? :p

We would make sure that the admins are not present, also that the admins that do join are monitored very closely afterwards, reason for this being that it wold have to be a like a Vegas server, everything that happens there stay there, no grudges and no fallout

But I suppose that is inevitbale

I think it'd be worth experimenting with, especially with all the trouble makers on CoD4. Basically a rage venting server, could have some consequences though, like bringing whatever behavior from the Chaos Server, to other public servers. But it's worth a try, I think.

Can work, but like Hyst said, might carry over. And regarding the name : iGame Australia. Cumaan, you know you want to.

What Hyst said. BTW can we pls have a list of the iGame public admins put somewhere on the forum so that people know who to contact?

Yeah I dunno, the more I think about it the less appealing it seems to be, although I know a load of players would probably find it awesome for the first day or so.
It would be interesting to see if the guys who I know for a fact complain about admins 99 of the time actually manage to play on a server with no rules

I say let it run for about a month and see, if it doesn't work out, you can stop it at any time. Thats why it's called an experiment.

lol okay well i think it could be good for some fun but esp in cod if the server is running promod then i think tk'ing should either be disabled or monitored coz thats one downflaw i think that could appear in people playing on the server but if it wont be running promod then i guess tk'ing cant be that much of a prob.. and about the hacks i think that might cause a problem aswell coz it might discourage some players on playing on that server and just like the tk'ing can result in an empty server 24/7 just my 2c

Blikkie grammar?

Mmm. iGame.Vent. Any way to find out, would be to test it for a month - if it doesn't seem to work, or takes away too many players off the regular servers:cry:, you can always shut it down. Don't take off PB though. Think it'll be a bloody mess. Hehe.

Cman, after I read your post, this is the conclusion I came to:
