The hardest gaming quiz... in the world

1/10. Well that was unexpected. Although most of the games questioned were before my time so I don't feel too bad [emoji14]

I got 2 right, and both by guessing.

Although I must admit, the answer I chose is what I remember. Like the question about which was the 1st ever game created. There is only that 1 that I recall, which I got wrong.

I disagree with question 9. Commander Keen was the first PC game with smooth scrolling, but there were games with smooth scrolling on other hardware before that. Also the smooth scrolling was developed by John Carmack, not John Romero.

4 out of 10, and I admit the voice of Mario correct answer was a complete lucky guess :) I will enjoy playing my games rather than studying them, thank you :)

Can't believe we missed Romero/Carmack. Fail. I've fixed it up and clarified the PC link - thanks :)

Yes, I thought the same thing. Did John Carmack and co not try to sell their tech to Nintendo in order to bring Mario to PC, and then when Nintendo declined they made their own game (Commander Keen)? Think I saw that in some documentary.

30% - I was a latish bloomer to gaming though since we couldn't afford a decent pc/console when I was a kid

3/10 for me, though 1 was a lucky guess. Nintendo tried Love Hotels, I actually laughed at this one.

I got 10/10: 3 known, 4 by deduction, and 3 guesses.

Also I'm the editor of MyGaming, so I was probably playing at some kind of advantage, what with qornea right there in the office, within easy reach so I could torture him for the answers.

(Disclaimer: I'm not actually in the office at the moment and MyGaming does not officially endorse torture of any kind. Including being made to play The Slaughtering Grounds. Or a Kim Kardashian game.)
