The Investor Challenge - Online trading game

So, looks like today's performance has been helping most of us. Not too bad. God a good profit from selling some shares this morning

And dammit, I showed my dad this game, and he's been competing now for only like a week and a bit. He's already up with over R13k since he started. Dammit!! I should take some tips.

I've joined up! Name is Tyronk in the group.

Does this follow the actual JSE prices ?

Just bought some shares now to see how this all works, probably didn't start out with good choices :S

EDIT: Question - How long do you usually wait before selling, or what is an acceptable increase in share price for you before selling (I.E is it worth it to sell if theres a R4 increase or do you wait for the big shifts ?)

I'm not doing too bad. should maybe start doing this for a living

The moment you use your own money your screwed. You need to start with R250 000 to make a living from it which means you need a decent nest egg to start which also means your gambling with your future.

indeed

And somehow I lost money and I didn't own any shares :wtf:

Im so glad i got rid of those MTN Shares :wtf: A whole week of trading and i just broke even...

Okay, so after losing quite a lot of money the first month, I made it up. With about 5 of the companies I invested in grew with 5%, sold 3 of them. Want to invest again now. What seems to be a good investment currently?

Seems like I'm shooting myself in the foot helping the enemy, but oh well :D

My Capitec shares did badly the first few days of last week, but so far since Friday and today they are growing quite nicely. My MTN shares are looking to decline, so I might sell that off.

Sappi is dropping, so they might be worth picking up in the near future, British American Tobacco are also dropping.

My last share, Sasol, is neither here nor there.

Took your advice, hopefully it doesn't bite me in the ass
