The Investor Challenge - Online trading game

I'm not doing too good, again. My only share that has grown is MTN, all the others have dropped in value. Fun times.
 
I've been signed up to this challenge for a couple of years now, ignored it though and only recently started being active when I got the 'another R100k has been deposited into your virtual account' email early this month.

Been having a bit of luck with resources though, jumping on the bandwagon of a few of the rallies, volatile shit but still.

Just saw the mygaming group last week and joined. Name is Snapcase like my GT
 
I've been playing the challenge for a couple of years, but still stuck in the buy shares and hope it does well. Maybe I should start to look at selling as well. It's only play money after all.

Hey dude!! Good to see you enjoying the new country.

So no updates unfortunately yet on how our group did or what our stats were. I will post the moment I see anything. I kinda stopped trading on there a bit, but I see my initial early year investments made me a profit, so that's good. And now, with work not too pressing, time to see what to buy for 2017.
 
I was down so badly in 2016. Luckily I don't own any of those stocks in real life, oh wait I do. I blame the drought.

Well, at least we didn't end last., and I speak for myself when I say that I lost a bit of steam on it since like April, so good on us. Also, we beat a team called PlatinumWealth.co.za, which, according to their website, is a forum that focuses on finances and investment. So the gamers beat the financial guys...NICE!!! But it was expected, I mean it's a game, and we are all gamers, so yeah.

Also, I was looking through this thread and I saw a post I made way back in Jan 2016:

Sappi is a good bet; they have diversified their core business, seeing as the paper market is dwindling. They are now more focus on exporting pulp to China, and seeing as the Rand is extremely bad, their values are sure to sail rather high. Mondi did the same, but not to the extent of Sappi

And wouldn't you know it, SAPPI had a 36% growth in their shares for 2016. BOOM!!!
 
This year I joined the mygaming group. Last year I was in the mybroadband group before the mygaming group was created.

Lol that platinumwealth is Thors creation, a dude on mybb that is a bit hyper. The idea was sort of a group investment club were everyone puts R100 a month until they build up enough money and then as a group decide on what to invest the money in. Kind of like a Stokvel I guess.
