The Last of Us Remastered pre-order price roundup

Very keen to rebuy on PS4 but I don't think there's enough of a difference to warrant those prices so I think I'll wait for a drop. With all the epic titles coming out towards the end of the year I'll have to be very wise with my pennies.

The best part about popular games like this is you know the market WILL be flooded with second hand copies soon enough

It's got a 30fps/60fps option. 30fps = Best shadows and shading, 60fps = Good shadows and Shading.

Excited to play it but I am only getting home past 8pm tomorrow :(
 
I don't understand why people buy two copies of the game? Surely it would be better just to wait till the prices drop? And rather spend the money on a game you haven't played yet?

I don't know, I enjoy replaying games on different platforms. Gonna trade in my PS3 version to get the PS4 version tomorrow. Also I imagine the MP servers on PS4 will be a lot busier than those of the PS3 version, especially since a lot of guys on PS4 never had the PS3 version. Also. the next game I want is only in October (Borderlands) so I thought I might as well get this on PS4 and play it again.

I understand for the mp part but I really thought the last of us was a single player focused game.

While it is primarily a game you play for the SP experience, the MP is actually pretty damn decent and a fair amount of fun. Another reason I'm getting the game again is for all the extra features like making of, DLC etc.

Just got my copy, will start in the next few minutes. I'm not expecting too much of a difference, apart from the 60fps and slightly improved visuals.

I played for about 20 minutes now and I am impressed. You definitely notice the 60FPS right away, game feels a lot smoother than it did on PS3. Visuals aren't that much better, but the textures definitely look better and the character models look especially good. Photo mode is also really cool, I expect too see some amazing images around the net in the days to come (quite a few good ones already). I will attach 2 early shots I took just to check it out. Haven't had a chance to check out the MP yet, will give it a try a bit later during the day or tonight maybe.

If you've never played this game and you have a PS4 you owe it to yourself to go out and buy it. This is definitely the best version of one the best games of the last generation. Even though I finished it on PS3 I'm definitely going to play through the main game again before going for the Left Behind DLC, I want to experience the whole game with the new framerate and visuals. Haven't tried the 30FPS lock option yet, not really bothered by better shadows at a lower framerate.

Thanks for that mate, informative. I do own the PS3 version but digitally so I am stuck with it. I would like to own this on PS4 as well, just because. Though I have read on some places about the Remastered edition, that they prefer playing at 30 FPS. Being mostly a PC guy I can't imagine why.

But if I get this for my PS4, is it worth it purely based on visuals?

I don't know man, I would say it's worth it yeah, but it might not be for everyone. Also don't understand why people would prefer 30FPS since you really notice the 60FPS immediately. It just feels a lot smoother than on PS3. If you have the cash I would say go for it, but if means you can't get another game you want that you haven't played yet I'd say wait a bit for a secondhand copy or something.

Im going out on a limb here, but im assuming you pre ordered it? Any feed back on the pre order bonuses? Iv got my game and there doesnt appear to be any pre order codes or anything?

Yeah, I did pre-order. Got a code a few minutes ago from BT and redeemed it, but I have no idea what it gave me. Don't see anything different or extra.
