I see those numbers, and how many did they still sell? 10, 20 times that? Piracy is still not the issue.

I'm happy enough to say I've completely eliminated pirate copies from my library - the only downloading of games I do now is through services like Steam, GOG and others. In some cases I've even rebought games that I've bought in the past simply because they don't work on Win 7 (in the case of X2 thanks to the damn built-in copy protection which refuses to work with anything past Win XP) - but I've gotten a bunch on golden oldies as well.

Sad stuff. Back in the day I also used to pirate. I feel bad about it.

Agreed. I feel good about each and every one of the boxes on my shelf now - even if some of them don't work anymore.
