The Motivation Thread

What's your plans for the week?

I'm going to do the following:
Get up at 5 every morning and go to the gym on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Then Tuesday morning and Thursday morning I'll work on my project for an hour. In the evenings from Monday to Thursday I would like to spend 7 to 8pm working on my project.

That should get quite a lot done. Plus I actually got up this morning to go to the gym which is a freaken miracle!

Especially in this cold!

I'll have to chat to my wife about her studying plans this week, she'll need my help with it since I did stats and she did not, adn she's writing exams early June. She's keen to book slots of time away for it too, though, so I think we'll be doing 7-9 each night, and when I'm not helping her, I'll be coding. Or learning how to. Or Googling. Or crying.

We're out Wednesday, though, wife is birthdaying, so I'm going to keep her out of working.

I have got so many-many things I would like to complete. Have this ugly tendency of leaving everything half-way.

I wrote a couple of songs in my lifetime but there is this one I always wanted to finish and never did - this was 14-years back when I started it!
Apart from that, I am busy writing a screenplay and would pretty much like to enter in the comp. next year - just never get to writing...

I am not a programmer, but my love for games compels me to write some fun game ideas. So there is this split-screen space game I have been working on - giving me a splitting headache, but really would like to finish.
Also did a short story back in the day and decided to make an Interactive book out of it to the likes of Lone Wolf. I did - but never finished it.

There are a lot of small little projects I did finish - like CapNum(for the lack of a name) - a small program I made back in the day for wireless keyboards to visually and audibly let you know about your Caps-lock and Num-lock status. I use it still today. :-)

That is apart from the things I would like to do around the house.

So, motivational levels have reached an all time high. After spending so much time this weekend working on assignments and pre-reading for my course, I have also today restarted going to the gym. I thought I might as well go and make sure my brain gets enough a much needed rest and I work on my fitness. I guess going to the gym takes that lethargic feeling away, and I cannot afford getting that now, not with all this work.

So Flex, stand by my friend, for I shall be contacting you soon for advice/motivation...

Haha nicely done! I also went to the gym this morning for the first time in a while. :)

Tomorrow morning it's working on my project again though.

The flu destroyed both my and my wife's motivation. So last night we had supper, and went to bed early. Hopefully we'll feel well enough to work a bit tonight.

Disappointingly I couldn't get up early for gym this morning. Have done well with working in the evenings though.

Sat down last night to dig into module one of my course and as I was going through it I realised how much work there was, the time need, and what is required of me.... I got discouraged and watched the soccer instead.

The biggest thing that's worrying me is getting out of the mindset that I don't have time for it. Being a single parent and a full time job, not to mention the other daily household tasks, the realisation is now hitting me. And it's worrying.

You can do it! It's not going to be easy but I'm sure you can make time for it. Even if it takes away time that you would have spent elsewhere. The best is to just do it. Um, I need to go find that video now. It was a joke for lots of people but that guy from that video was like a revelation to me. *goes and find video*

Indeed.... and this is what I constantly remind myself, throughout the day....

Well I feel I've had a productive night. Started module 1 and its assignment. Made constructive remarks in the open group discussion and hoping things go forward with this inertia.

Awesome!

I had a relatively successful week. I worked 3 out of the 4 evenings and got up early to either work or go to the gym 3 out of the 5 days. So it's not perfect but it's better than what I've done lately. I'm still deciding how to handle the work tomorrow. Either work the whole morning and miss out on Dark Souls or play Dark Souls and then work for two hours. I'll decide tonight.

I need motivation to wake up earlier as well as start working out and finish a few projects I've got going:p Also to drink more water

If anyone would like to join me. Tomorrow I'm going to have a SUPER Work Saturday! I'm going to wake up early and work then I'll have a quick shower as a break and then I'll continue working until lunch. Focusing on speed. Trying to get things done quickly and efficiently.

Depending on how tired I am I may quit after lunch but maybe I'll continue. Will decide that at that point.

Who would like to join me for this SUPER Work Saturday!

I want to get things done.
