What format will you be getting Arkham Knight on

Seems to me the PC port is a disaster for ALL users, except for a few trolls that are defending it for some reason.

Yeah it looks like luck of the draw atm. Either you are having issues or you are not, what hardware you have makes no difference. I might check it out tonight just to see how bad it currently is... :/

Surprised no one has posted this yet.

Dodged a bullet with this one. This, on top of their DLC and platform exclusive content rubbish, is the icing on the cake. It also uses the Denuvo DRM-condom, and IIRC, both Dragon Age Inquisition and Lords of the Fallen had problems because of it.

In other news though, NetherRealm fired High Volt Studios because their PC port of MKX was rubbish, and now QLoc are working on it, who have a pretty good track record. I'm guessing something similar is going to happen here. In the mean time though, those who have purchased via Steam have access to a very easy refund system. I'd suggest using it. Publishers should have learnt their lesson my now.

Yeah it seems like it was a really really bad port all round, up there with saints row 2. Apparently its got worse wave effects, no rain shaders, low streaming, bad performance etc...

I'm really bitter that I spent so much money on this already(PC/season pass version and now PS4), especially as a student.

Oh what a ride I've had with this game:
Bought the PC version from Takealot, they then told me it was delayed. So I asked for instore credit.
Then got it from GMG with season pass.
Started downloading on Monday it is now Wednesday and it got to 26gigs. When I looked again it was back down to 0%.
Then I see all the problems it is having on PC due to the outsourced porting company.

Went back onto Takealot and I've ordered the PS4 version, which will arrive on Friday.
This means though that I have the PC version with season pass just sitting there. R800 or so down the drain.

I burned through like 50% of my daytime data only to have the same damn thing happen to me... back to like 2% :'(

The ps4 version is great ,I played yesterday for 5 hours pre patch and it played really well. The patch seems to have improved IQ and made it even more smoother when driving bat tank like a madman lol.Whoever did the pc port should be black listed.

My PS4 copy only arrives on Friday, how big is the patch?

So those of us who ordered the game on PC and the limited Collectors edition will have to wait another 2 to 3 weeks for our game so in the mean time warner bros is being nice and giving us a steam code with the harley DLC untill the game arrives and we are not paying for the game till it arrives :D so gonna play it for free and getting the DLC for free :D

Grief, that's depressingly bad. WTF we're they thinking releasing it in such a bad state of optimization?

I mean why even bother spending money on producing a low grade, low quality PC port when all you're going to do is piss off the PC gaming public to the point that they turn away from anything cross-platform in the future? The more this happens, the less inclined I am to consider throwing more of my hard earned at something that's going to give me more frustration and irritation than entertainment.

The sadness I feel, knowing how much I was looking forward to this game... Sigh

The PC launch is depressing, to say the least...

Greenman Gaming will start offering refunds for the game if the patch Warner Bros promised doesn't fix the game.

We're aware that a number of users have been having issues with the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight, and we're talking to Warner Bros who are resolved to address these concerns. You can find WB's official response to the issues here.

Warner Bros. are currently working on a patch which we are hoping will be released soon. We want you to enjoy your game, but if after the fix has been released, you still cannot play your game, we will process refund requests for the game.

Yeah, the PC version is rubbish.

  • Major stuttering problems on a variety of rigs
  • Streaming issues with cause a bunch of textures to look super low res
  • Some missing textures entirely
  • Limited rain effects compared to the PS4|Xbone, which is hilarious because these were shown in an Nvidia video a while back
  • Lack of AO, so no SSAO or HBAO+ which makes the lighting look dull when compared to the console versions
  • Batman, The Capped Crusader - 30FPS lock. You can unlock it, but the game acts strangely when you start messing with the ini files. Which is weird considering this is an Unreal Engine 3 game. Strangely the Nvidia video from a few weeks ago was uploaded in 1080p|60FPS
  • The water is bugged, it's flat and doesn't move like the console versions which have wave effects
  • Validation issues on Steam. The game will randomly delete itself, and redownload the 36gigs constantly, in a loop. Also, if you try to revalidate your files, it'll tell you that 4000 files are missing, delete the game and redownload it again. The second time Warn a Brother has done something like this.
  • Hidden additional DRM, Denuvo, which wasn't mentioned previously

It's going to take a while to fix even the most basic of these issues. The PC version shouldn't have been released at all, in this state. Once again, Warn a Brother decides to let the company with the lowest bid work on the PC port. You think they would've learnt their lesson with MKX. Giving port jobs to companies like High Voltage and Iron Galaxy might same you some cash in the short term, but will harm you much more in the long term. I wonder what the Mad Max port will be like? At least if Avalanche does it in house, it'll be pretty good.

Is this true?, the comparisons look like they are using PC rainworks which has less rain on screen but is an actual object that reacts to batman. If it is switched off it should be the same.

Anyway I hope Mad max is better as I'm buying that on PC in my wait for Metal gear solid which arrives two weeks after.

Here's a gif comparison. PC Ultra compared to the PS4. The rain effects aren't on a lot of surfaces, including the Batmobile. You can also see the lack of AO, which is partly why there's so many jaggies. The edges aren't being softened like they usually would, if AO was enabled.

I saw this on Neogaf, had a good laugh.
