Just trying to find out what those different latency status effects mean?

Round circle thing means High Latency. When its orange, it means its a problem. When its red, its gone over to severe latency. Not totally sure what the numbers are behind them. Also, when you see those 4 square thingies, that means package loss. You'll also see some rubber banding in game then. It is rare to see that but it does happen. And like the others, orange for high and red for severe.

So far i'm sitting around 179ms - 187ms and it seems fine. Every now and then some shots feel like they don't register but i'm ok with that. It doesn't happen that often.

Thanks, seems I was getting low FPS for some reason. Maybe that was while I was streaming to the Xbox at the same time.

Seems the warning for this appears at around 65-70 FPS but otherwise the game is running at an average of 90-110 FPS for me.

Yeah, I think if this was BF4 you would have your arse handed to with a ping like that. The game pace has slowed down a lot and allows for a bit of a higher ping, that being said, I think they've also improved on the netcode dramatically (feels like Overwatch).

So, my favourite class so far is definitely medic. I just upgraded from the standard Cei-Rigotti rifle to the Mondragon. Its better for longer ranged fighting, which places me on the back of the front line when storming ant point. I think it works for me as from my position just back of the attaching force, I can get a good support location going with healing and reviving capabilities. I revive like a madman at the moment. Thinking I should probably upgrade the Mondragon to a M1907 SL Sweeper for that automatic fire action.

And how much of a Battlefield fan, and which was your favorite?

Reason I ask is because I come from a long lone of Battlefields.

Also a big fan, my favourite was '42 and of the more recent versions it's a toss-up between BC2 and BF3. Hardline and BF4 didn't really interest me much.

Yeah, BF 1942 was great. My personal favorites was BF2 and then BFBC2 and Vietnam.

I'm not trying to sell you here on BF1, I know 1k is a lot to drop. But Over the years my time with BF has significantly decreased. To only spend around 70 hours on BF4 is a small figure. That being said, BF1 is very, very atmospheric and refreshing. I'm actually really enjoying the franchise again and reminds me a lot of the BF2 days. The maps are massive and the modes are nice, though game play has slowed down a bit which is great, it gives you a little breathing room. Though some things never change, snipers are a dime a dozen.

I was basically sold on it while I was waiting for my download to complete, you can play the campaign from 33% download, I started up the SP aspect. The immersion factor and the sound layering is just sublime. Not to mention the graphics, they are really pushing the Frostbite engine and it looks FANTASTIC!

Oh yeah i'm already sold on the SP but hear its a bit short. My biggest worry is the international servers. I'll probably get between 200 and 230ms on my iburst connection. :(

Yeah, I play with clan mates and we're all local guys with normal ADSL and what what. We're all sitting with average of 200ms ping times, and it plays surprisingly plays well. I think it's helped by the slower game pace, but they have improved their netcode considerably.

Look, I wasn't going to get the game and neither were any of my buds when all this debacle about the price and no SA servers cam about, but just last week I learned that they had all bought it and were playing early (talk about a boycott), so needless to say, I was somewhat peer pressured into it. But I don't regret it, not yet at least.

Alright alright, you convinced me. I'll grab a copy from Raru. I'll annoy you with random pings on steam if it sucks.

I had the most fun I've ever had with a multiplayer game last night. Finally the matchmaking put me in games where I felt like the skill levels were on my level. Our team constantly played the objectives, and we won 3/4 of the conquest matches I played. It was great fun. This is my first real Battlefield multiplayer experience, and I can completely see what all the fuss is about. This game keeps on getting more and more fun!!!
