The Official "MyGaming" Anime Thread

4th of July D.Gray-man Hallow airs, 13 episodes confirmed!

Finding InuYasha: The Final act, to have a lot more action and way more story packed into every episode. Initially I was a little confused as to what was happening, despite it continuing from the conclusion in 2004. Having 26 episodes is probably the reason why everything is advancing so quickly.

I've already started downloading it, as soon as I'm done with Baccano! I'm watching it. Also got the first few episodes of D.Gray-man and Puella Magi Madoka Magica. But Sundays is when I watch One Piece, Dragon Ball Super and Thursday's Shippuden. Looking at the length of D.Gray-man, I'll have to add it to my Sunday line-up as well as squeezing a few episodes during the week.

I could not seem to find the immense enjoyment that many people got from Madoka magika, the premise and characters where good, specially Kyuubei since he had his modus operandi and anything else was moot. However the rest of the story was fairly predictable and I found it's conclusion to be less shocking than what I was lead on to believe.

Well, that just moved it down the queue. I've still got plenty I still have to watch. What are some of the funnies manga and/or anime series you've read/seen?

Nichijou, Baka no Test and Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou are top class comedic acts. Mahoromatic, Nisekoi Hayte no Gotoku, Great Teacher Onizuka, Beyond the Boundary, Chitose Get You!!, Rosario to Vampire, Ping Pong and Fairy tale have their moments too.

I found Kenichi to be quite comical. It's mostly about martial arts. Magi can be humorous too.

Thanks, I'll check 'em out. The last funny anime I watched was Beelzebub, or maybe Angel Beats, can't remember. I downloaded Sakigake!! Cromartie Koukou a while ago and I'm planning on watching it this coming week, so I'll need to stock up on replacements.

I ended up watching it after all. Beautiful animation, but I agree with you on the story being predictable. I did kinda enjoy it a little bit though, it was light enough for me to watch between study breaks even though it initially seemed like it'd be gloomy and depressing all the way through. The ending was somewhat kak though. Also, Modoka going from being a gigantic wuss to whatever it is she was at the end seemed a bit forced to me. But all in all, I'm glad I got it out of the way.

Madoka went from 0 to 100 almost instantly because she had a massive guilt trip. QB's deck was stacked from the start, not matter what Akemi did she could not stop it.

You should watch Bokurano, the antagonist (Koyemshi) is so much better than QB was, and he is actually beaten in his own game. Which is what you are hoping for in Madoka, but never happens it has similar themes to Madoka but it plays out much better in the end.

I remember watching that some time ago. It took a google search to link the name up with the anime, I don't know why but in my head the anime is named Zearth  . I can't recall how it ended though, I just remember them finding out what they were actually fighting and that they had a traitor amongst them. That robot was pretty mean looking though, probably the only reason I can still remember it.

In the end they discovered that they were fighting others from alternate realities. I found it to be more entertaining and less predictable than Madoka Magika.

Have you perhaps seen The Garden of Sinners?

No I haven't, what's it about?

It's a collection of films and a couple of OVA's that are done in a disjointed narrative. It is primarily about Shiki a woman who combats Mages and other super natural entities. There is some romance in it as well, yet with Shiki being such a strong character it's mostly pushed aside and matures extremely slowly as the films progress. It is created by ufotable, so it has a FATE series feel to it visually with the character design and style.

It really is such an amazing series, the fragmented story telling really helps with keeping it interesting.

If you ever want to re-watch it and pick up on the pieces you missed, chronologically it runs:
Spoiler: show
2 -> 4 -> 3 -> 1 -> 5 -> 6 -> 7

Hehe, I'm definitely going to check that out. This is gonna be a long good Winter :)

I would say "Brace yourself winter is coming" but because of El Nino you never know what the weather will entail each day :p

Hehe, hopefully it doesn't get too erratic. It gets pretty hot during the day but night time gets super cold. It's a good thing I game with a laptop so I can take it under the covers and the heat keeps me warm

It has been hot here for the past couple of days, normally it's much colder.

I use my phone and proceed to call it my "phone anime" which I watch if I can't fall asleep, I normally end up watching 2 or 3 episodes before passing out. I really want to get one of those Cheap MTN or Vodacom Tablets for a bigger screen.

That would be pretty much the only thing they would be most useful for. I've been thinking about getting one myself, I rely on an old laptop cooler that's pretty much just a stand now to keep my old machine from frying my thighs. & it doesn't help that the bloody thing overheats more & more these days, probably needs a good cleaning to remove all the dust so the GPU fan can do it's job properly. & with Android it's nice because you can stream straight from your pc over your home wifi or wifi tethering.
