The Official "MyGaming" Anime Thread

R286.58 for six months of access. This option also gives you 15GB per month for the six months. You can buy additional GB if you need it. Whatever you have left at the end of the month gets carried over to the next month.

oh not bad

Yeah I thought so too. My problem is with an uncapped 4MB line I can destroy 15GB in less than 12 hours. :( I've allready bought an extra 20GB ($20=R120) cause I need to make a dent in One Piece...... 480 freekin episodes!!! Gonna work out to 120GB.......... :rolleyes:

Just finished watching a manga called Rideback. Very coll animation and loved the seriousness of the show:)

Manga = Comic
Anime = Animation

The cockup comes into the play due to the fact there is a Anime distributor called Manga Entertainment.

While Anime.avi == Ninja.scrolls
{
Watch.anime();
}

or in simpler terms:

1 BTFSS Anime.ninjascrolls;
2 GOTO End;
3 Watch.Anime;
4 GOTO 1;
5 End;

Basically just saying the only thing he'll watch is Ninja Scroll. But, that's his taste, no need to slag the series.

I could say something about people going on about Naruto, DBZ etc - since I hate those - but they enjoy it - it's anime - so no need.

As for Bartender - hmmm .. watched the first episode, really couldn't get into it though. My choices for getting people interested are usually along the lines of Clannad and Kanon - if they prefer action though you can't go wrong with History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi :)

Yeah, I got that. Hence my comment of it being a crap anime.

Well those are indeed crap anime's so no worries there. :P

Clannad and Kanon are waaaaay too emo for my liking, but my fiancé enjoyed them.

Do I here people ripping Naruto!?
Bunshin-no-Jitsu!

Rrrrriiiiiiipp!!

Jokes - I don't hate Naruto as much as I make out to - I have actually watched the first season up to the point where the filler-avalance starts. However, what does bother me is the level of fanaticism its fans display - to the point where they're not willing to entertain other series - and whenever there is a discussion it's all Naruto, Naruto, Naruto ...

I'm busy weeding a friend of mine off the series, because that's all he's ever watched - and strangely. the drug of choice turned out to be Kiddy Grade. Guess pretty girls do the trick more often than not, 'ey?

I'm not gonna be drawn into a discussion of DBZ ... ever. In my opinion that show is as bad an ambassador for the genre that has ever existed - it is what makes people believe anime is just for kids. This quote on bash summarises it perfectly for me:

[First person] So what happened on DBZ today?
[2nd person] They fought some guy ...

Coupled with horrible animation, even worse character design, re-used backgrounds and power-ups that make Naruto's seem sensible - watching two episodes is as much as I can stomach. They were having the same fight in those two, and based on what I heard the fight finished another 2 eps later. Goddamn!! It's like WWE ... only animated.

...

I just discussed it ... didn't I? *sigh*

Anyways, in answer to BlaZing - no answer :p Haven't watched either of those shows ... they're sports-shows, and it's very rare for something from that genre to capture my attention. The last one was Princess Nine ...

haha no problem shadowfox, frankly I find naruto himself a terrible protagonist, But I love its mix of some epic battles and really funny moments, plus Uchia clan story is really interesting
never watched a significant part of DBZ myself, I'm rather keen to watch it.

in other news,have any of you watched the Boondocks?

Rather try Dragon Ball Kai. It's the better version of Dragon Ball Z. Where DBZ was 260+ episodes DBK is only 100. Makes for much better viewing.

Hahahaha ... I see what they did there. They compressed the 5-minute power-ups into 1 minute? :p

That's why I enjoyed Kenichi so much I think. It's got all the fighting that real manly men(sorry, couldn't resist the temptation :D ) like ourselves like watching - plus it was really funny.
