The Official "MyGaming" Anime Thread

I'm actually - unbelievable as it sounds to my own ears - taking a bit of a break from anime and watching some Battlestar Galactica.

Might be because I was sick for two days and ended up watching Lucky Star and my Hatsune Miku Concert DVD in one go - with the occasional nap thrown in of course.

Not sure what's next on my plate - I should probably try and finish Nighthead Genesis and Slayers Try before moving on to any of the new stuff.

Off-topic ... but I have to agree. I'm amazed that I haven't really sat down and appreciated it before.

An observation I've made - how accurate it is, is debatable - but it seems to me most anime lovers have a great fondness for sci-fi shows - while a fairly large portion of sci-fi viewers like anime (not quite the same amount) - but I've found converting sci-fi watchers to anime isn't too difficult usually :) Tend to be more open-minded.

So say we all!

What do they mean by horrible subs? Do they have horrible subs or is it just a group?

lol Google them. They quite funny in their approach to fan-subbing.

Managed to get a hold of Dragon Ball DVD set's. My life is over when I finally purchase DBZ season 9 and GT 1 + 2... 512~ episodes...

Well, Gundam has been going since the 1979! Probably the most popular mecha/sci-fi series in the world. lol Tengen Toppa Gurenn Lagann is a close second

:EDIT:

Anyone picking up new shows for the Fall Season?

Letter Bee 2
Hakuouki 2
Star Driver
Panty and Stockings
And possibly Iron Man - I'm looking out for these shows :)

How many shiki Eps are there going to be? I am guessing 12? All the good anime only have 12 eps:(

OCTOBER 1st AUTUMN/WINDER SEASON STARTS!

Never watch Gundam 00 and then attempt to watch other Gundam Series, even the simple A-Laws GN systems make SEED's mecha look like a cereal box toy.

I have been watching Occult academy. Very good and funny:D

Just waiting for more shiki eps in the mean time.

Here's a list of the Autumn 2010 releases - starting in October:

Sora no Otoshimono f - f apparently stands for forte - second season of Sora no Otoshimono - looks like overloaded fanservice

MM! - Pronounced as Em Em! Main character has a sexual fetishism of machochism - it's being billed as a romantic comedy. Errr ... okay ...

Bakuman - Follows a wannabe mangaka who aims to realise his dream of becoming serialised and chasing the girl of his dreams at the same time - seems fun

Tegami Bachi 2 - Letter Bee Season 2. Adventure series - don't know much about it, but follows a character delivering letters while defending them from creatures that feed off the 'heart/feelings' contained within

Hakuouki 2 - Based on an adventure/romance game for girls - second season of Hekketsuroku, and set in the historical Edo period. Expect lots of (good looking?) samurai

Star Driver -Kagayaki no Takuto- - Big robots, lots of ridiculously good looking boys and girls. Main character washes ashore on a mysterious island with lots of secrets. Go figure

Psychic Detective Yakumo - Main character has the ability to see ghosts/spirits and believes that they are bound to earth for a reason - eliminating that reason will allow them to rest in peace.

My Little Sister can’t be this cute! - Japanese title Ore no Imōto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai that's a mouthful. The title is suggestive, but I've read the first light-novel, it's perfectly safe. Basically - brother and sister have a cold relationship, brother discovers his sister's secret (she's an otaku with very specific tastes), and he gets roped into helping her protect her secret. No brainer - I'm watching this one

Hyakka Ryoran Samurai Girls - Cute girls, big swords. Same group that did Elfen Lied, Ikki Tousen and Queen's Blade. Need I say more?

Arakawa Under the Bridge 2 - Following on season 1 obviously. No more to say here

Yosuga no Sora - Romantic comedy featuring twins - brother and his weak sister - who recently lost their parents (who needs parents in anime series anyway). Seems like a relatively typical harem anime.

Otome Yokai Zakuro - Set in an alternate version of Japan, where humans and spirits/monsters co-exist. Main character is a half-human/spirit who works in the Ministry of Youkai.

Invasion! Squid Girl - Slice of life comedy. An ikamusume or Squid Girl, is sent to invade human lands to punish them for polluting the sea. However, after attacking a beach house, she ends up working there to repay the damages. Seems fun.

Motto To Love-Ru - Another no-brainer. Yes ... it contains a lot of pointless fanservice, and the story was concluded, but I enjoyed the initial series (romantic comedy/sci-fi) a fair bit, so I'm looking forward to this one.

The World God Only Knows - A rather depressed otaku gets bound in a contract with a demon from hell to capture the hearts of girls in order the capture spirits hiding inside. Poor bloke has no experience with real girls, only knowing how to deal with girls in the 2D world of games. Comedy

Togainu no Chi - A little darker - set in future Japan after the third world war. Drama and action

Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru - Slice-of-life comedy following a waitress working in a cafe that gets converted to a maid-cafe - because it seems popular.

To Aru Majutsu no Index II - Another sequel. We're being bombarded with the things.

FORTUNE ARTERIAL - Harem-type romance - main character transfers to a prestigious school and finds that his next door neighbour (who happens to be a cute girl *shock*) is a type of vampire

Hope some of these keep you busy until January and the winter releases ;)

Otome Yokai Zakuro that sounds cool. I am still waiting for more shiki eps to come out. And the last eps of occult academy:D

Otome Yokai Zakuro gives me this odd reminder of Hyper Police, in a way, although the main characters have different jobs. I'm going to laugh if the main character is a cat-girl type.
