I wouldn't go as far as saying Monogatari is better than DN - in fact, I wouldn't compare the two because they are so different. But the dialogue (and humour) in Bakemonogatari is incredibly sharp and enjoyable. DN spent a bit too much time being dark, although it was a fascinating exploration of how power can corrupt the psyche of even a well-meaning person. And it's firmly grounded in reality, if you can ignore the bit about killing people by writing their name down.

Bakemonogatari is a little more, how to say it, supernatural in tone.

Well, I guess I should watch Bakemonogatari followed by some Death Note.

I really want to watch Neon Genesis Evangelion though, I need to find someone who has it:rolleyes:.

I love them but it's exhausting to continuously follow both of them (and watch one of them). Good things eventually have to come to an end :p. I just read the latest chapters, both pleased me, but one of them suggested just how much longer they intend to go on.

On another note, I'm struggling to decide if I should watch Death Note or Bakemonogatari 1st...

I have not watched any anime in ages... last one I watched was black lagoon season 2. 2 flipping years ago. loved it but yeah, not much caught my attention recently, Bleach went off the rails with the Bount arc, Naruto felt like Baddie of the week format. dunno. not finding much to watch

The first one is Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid - that was a little cameo appearance by Death Note's L :p

The second one is Rozen Maiden - the character in front is Suisei Seki and the one in the background is her sister Sousei Seki.
 
I watched the first "Attack on Titan" and have to say, it's amazing. Great storyline and good animation. Very dark! I've downloaded up to E09 - just trying to make time to watch them all!

I'm also a huge Robotech (Macross) fan - I bought the entire collection when I lived in the US. Live action film has been given the green light, too!
 
that you waited so long to watch Attack on Titian is not right, but you watching it at least so its all good :D

I think its the best anime so far this year

You'll probably want to flay me for saying this - but I have one HUGE problem with Shingeki no Kyojin - and that is the plot's pace. After the initial burst of time in the first 3 episodes development has slowed to a crawl, and I feel like tearing my hair out by the end of each episode.

That isn't to say it's not an awesome show, because it is, but seriously: SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING!!! D:

The first one was awesome from start to finish - good action flow.
 
yes it has slowed down but i dont like watching 1 episode ever week i rather watch 2 or 3 i went to read the manga so i know what going to happen. The whole thing that made it awsome was I feel the art, style and the fact that its something different.
 
I am an AMV fan... seen tons of brilliant AMVs.
I even want to make one, I have the tools and skills, but I don't have much of an imagination.
I cannot seem to be creative enough to choose the right scenes or song.

There are 2 AMV creators in South Africa who have made several decent videos that I am aware of.

There are others, who create their own videos, but these are generally their own private work and not accessible outside any competitions which are held.

The AMV scene sadly doesn't seem to be too popular here in South Africa.
