The original Star Wars cast returns

Hope everyone is ready for a generic sci-fi film. I unfortunately don't have high hopes for this one. But at least it can't be as bad as Episode 2

This will suck, there is no doubt about it. Will it suck more than the prequels? I believe it can.

This pretty much sums up the crap we will have to put up with "Set approximately thirty-five years after Return of the Jedi and the demise of Darth Vader the plot centers around a trio of young leads, along with characters from the previous installments. Episodes VII-IX will not feature any of the storylines or characters from the Expanded Universe, though elements could be included to become canon."

"The three most exciting stories were 7, 8 and 9. They had propulsive action, really interesting new worlds, new characters"

So expect oodles of irritating cartoony characters, fight scenes battles and CGI worlds

Personally, as a big SW fan, I cannot wait....

The fact that Burk and Abrams is involved gives me a new hope!

I sense much nerd rage :p And toxin don't you mean the whole of the prequel episodes? .

Ep2 was especially bad. Whining Hayden Christensen was just utterly disgustingly bad. Not even the awesome Yoda fight scene could save it.

Ep1 could have been saved if they re-wrote Jar-Jar to not have the IQ of a week old slice of pizza. He would have been a cool character otherwise. That goes for the Gunduns as well.

Ep3 was probably the best of the three. Less whine from Hayden Christensen.
I see the screen writer for the empire strikes back and return of the jedi is involved.

maybe there is hope.
Lawrence Kasdan? His last three movies were Mumford, Dreamcatcher and Darling Companion....... I find your abundance of hope disturbing.....

Michael Arndt wanted to focus on the next generation more and have a nice send off for the old guard (Solo, Leia and Luke). His idea was scrapped and now the story will be focussed on them.

I’m still taking the wait and see approach.

Oh.... And hopefully I remember to take my sunglasses along when it finally come out and I go see it..... Lense glare isn’t for everyone......

What about one featuring JarJar?

Say what you will about George Lucas and the prequel trilogy but selling out to Disney was the worst decision he could have ever made. Everyone could see the slew of spin-offs, kid shows and a new, ultimately shit new trilogy.

Yeah, George got it wrong with Jar-Jar and Anakin, but man, I still really enjoyed the prequel trilogy and George Lucas still rocks.

So you are saying that, the worst decision George Lucas ever made was to make billions of dollars? Are you even serious?

:D:D:D

I was also a disciple of the Great George Lucas..... The train wreck that was Episode 1-3 was shook my faith and when he started changing the original trilogy to the point of ridiculousness I lost it completely.

The best thing Lucas ever did since the original trilogy was sell the franchise to Disney. Sure they'll milk it for all it's worth, but anything they push out will be at least good quality.

As much as I rail on JJ "AHHH!! The lense flare burnsess us!!" Abrams and every new detail being released, deep inside, I hope it'll be awesome.

The only thing that I am pleased about is the cast selection and MAYBE JJ Abrams. If anyone were to take the helm for the next three movies I think JJ or Josh Whedon would have been the only two capable of pulling this off.

You know, yeah, not many people liked the prequel trilogy but I really did. I would have preferred a different Anakin (Not a short coming of the actor but rather writing) and Jar-Jar well meh, I didn't like him but neither did I hate him. We wouldn't have Star Wars without George Lucas, I think the hate he receives over the prequel trilogy is seriously misguided. It's now popular to hate on the prequels and if you even remotely enjoyed them well then you can't be a "true fan".

The very first film I ever saw was the original Star Wars, I have been a lifelong fan for as long as I can remember, I still stand with George Lucas, even if he did butcher Vader's origin.

The one thing that did piss me off was the Han moment from Episode IV, it's small and everyone hates on it but I have to agree with the haters on that. I still have the original VHS tapes so I can always go back to them, which I do :D. Oh and the ghost scene at the end of Episode VI.

It's a give and take really, anyone who really cares about Star Wars is a "real" fan. Needing to hate on this or that shouldn't determine if you're a fan or not. All I ask for is that JJ honors the Star Wars lore and canon and gives us something really special. I will go and see the first film though, I just really hope it's epic.
