The prequel to Homeworld, Deserts of Kharak, arrives soon

Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak is the expedition that started it all, a prequel to Homeworld and Homeworld 2, and developed by much of the same team too.

The game began development in 2010 under the title Hardware: Shipbreakers. In 2013 Gearbox acquired the Homeworld IP and struck a deal with Blackbird to re-tool the game as a Homeworld title. From 2013 to December 2015 it was known in development as Homeworld: Shipbreakers
