If you’re thinking about picking up a new cell phone, gaming system or other gadget, you might be shocked at the sticker price – and you might wonder just how much of a profit the company is making on your purchase. Market research company iSuppli recently analyzed the components of several popular consumer electronics to figure out just how much each item costs to manufacture, and how much of your purchase price goes straight into their “profit” column.

Again - it's not about which part is used, but rather knowing which part goes where.

You don't pay a doctor for what he does...you pay him for years of research into knowing what to do.
 
And, it also matters where the parts comes from... i.e. blood minerals.

For instance, the biggest components of iPhones / Play Station, in fact any electronic device, (coltan) comes from the Congo, because the labour is cheap and extortion is the name of the game, especially since it is the only work people can do to put food on the table.

Australia and other countries cannot compare to this new version of the blood diamond.
