The SA Xbox Live dilemma

Microfail all the way.

Im sure the PS3 fanboys will jump on this, not only is PSN free, but it works perfectly in SA afaik

Based on the conversation we had with Press, it sounds to us like Microsoft Corp is simply not prepared to pour the necessary resources into developing Live in SA, as the market here is too small.

I think this is total BS.... these okes are pretty much trying to say that SA is not a big enough market when it comes to supporting MS products and are chooning that we are just another 3rd world country why should they provide anything... I should actually sue them for saying that... and plus SA adds on to the millions of gamers world wide..... thats pure descrimination against our country and its people...

Ag just don't buy there games and consoles then or even better start a petition or even better get a PS3 :D

And watch when the seacomm cable land they going to quickly change their tune to "Oh definatly its launching (insert following day after press release)"

I am sure there are discussions that we are unaware of trying to get Live off the ground...
I mean Live has been an issue, since... well the beginning.
It's about time, innit.

"While Microsoft is happy to sell us their consoles and games, it seems that they are not prepared to make the necessary investments that would allow SA users to experience the full Xbox 360 experience."

That sums it up for me. We're getting half the console Live-supported countries are getting as far as I'm concerned, and now at inflated prices too. Next time I'll be getting a PS3... it's prettier and more robust anyway.

The excuses are getting old now. I'm not even sure why they bother anymore as it's obvious it isn't as much of a priority for Microsoft as we were previously made to believe.

I don't understand what all the fuss is about. I mean I do, but I don't. If we don't have it I understand the fuss, but from what I tried it seems we do.

I only recently got an xbox, back at the beginning of the month. Since then I have signed up for xbox live and managed to do a few updates with it. I have not really tried much else with it, but everything seems available. What am I missing?

Aren't there a few tricks and illegitimate things you have to do to register overseas? False address, etc?

Also the lag we get by playing on servers overseas is HUGE compared to having a local server.

new to xbox but played street fighter last night on live.
still super fun
not that bad when it comes to lag
only issue is i cant join existing games i have to create one

hopefully things will get sorted out soon
because it wicked fun when working
