The Spike Video Game Awards 2011 full list of winners and nominees

Someone really needs to explain how witcher 2 is nominated for top pc game but doesn't even get a mention for top rpg?? No offence to DA2 but witcher 2 is a vastly superior game.

DAII was pretty much a stinky diaper, where as Witcher 2 was a masterpiece. Some how I think they forgot about it....

The VG Awards became a cheap-ass event the moment the latest nobody, Charlie Sheen, had his drug-addled face plastered all over the event. I guess he has to take whatever gig he can get after his fiasco and the VGA game popularity contest couldn't resist the opportunity to add another whack-job celebrity to their marketing campaign.

Point being that I find it difficult to take many of those awards seriously. I mean, FFS, Portal 2 best PC game? What HAVE they been smoking? Portal 2 better than Battlefield 3 or The Witcher 2? What the fuck ever.

I feel Bastion fully deserved its win. Although I feel it, like Portal 2, only received votes because it was a game voters "recognised" more than actually bothered playing.
 
The Spike VGA's are like MTV Movie Awards which something like Twilight wins best picture not because it's good but because it's what the people watching want to see.

Don't give me best shooter/rpg/action blah blah blah, I want stuff that actually matters in terms of pushing the industry forward. Stuff like; technical achievement, best animation, most innovative game play systems, most interesting game world, best new IP. Like WTF does "Most Anticipated Game" even mean, it's pointless.
 
No surprises on Skyrim winning, Glad Bastion got a win for something as well. I didnt like how we only had a few choices to vote. How were the nominations chosen...

IMO Portal 2 deserved all the credit it got and then some. The omission of The Witcher 2 was surprising though, it's like it never existed. But I don't take these awards too seriously, though I am looking forward to the Gametrailers games of the year selection.
 
Battlefield 3 is by the far the prettiest game I have ever played. I was surprised to see it not on the list, even as a nominee???

Battlefield 3 was nominated in the Best Shooter and Best Multiplayer categories,surely that counts for something?

These awards are what the mass gamers vote for, but I cannot see how Portal 2 can surpass MW3 or BF3...

Have you played Portal 2? I agree that it winning multiplayer is just ludicrous, but its single player was utterly brilliant.
 
This awards is so wrong cause uncharted 3 was way better than batman arkham city. also bf3 not best graphics but for me uncharted was better graphics than bf3 not due to realistic looks etc but animation etc. And portal 2 pc game of the year.

What moron did this cause it's totally crap. Don't trust this play uncharted and you will know why it's game of the year and also best adventure game. This is the reason for all the crappy games cause the worse the game the more awards you will win.

Simple its a much better game. I think its creative use of Co-Op is what one out in the end. I am actually glad MW3 only won one award, almost restores faith in humanity... ALMOST.

All voting is done by gamers. With UC3 being PS3 exclusive its natural that less people played it than Batman AC thus Batman AC got more votes and is there fore the winner. IMHO Batman AC deserves the win, its open structure, brilliant combat and the fact that it is better that Batman AA in almost every way (except the plot was a bit hit and miss) it deserves to win. Every review I've read, watched or listened to tells of how much Like UC2 UC3 is.

BTW did you vote for your game of the year?
