The Steam specials thread

Can't find it anywhere on absa website but my dad tole me its on his statement at the end of the month. Like if you under R100 you pay someting like R14 fee on it.

Good question on the Midweek special. Maybe they gearing up for one of those Whole week valve specials.

Maybe that is just ABSA? FNB does not seem to charge for this. I'm sure my dad would have moaned at me by now if R14 came off every time I perchased a game of under R100.

Anyways, anyone going to get one of the Bond games? I am eyeing out Blood Stone - I might just give it a skip considering it isn't the end of the month yet... and the fact that I am agreeing on the "meh" factor.

I also bought that Time Gentlemen Please thing, haven't played it yet. For 10 bucks I couldn't resist

That time gentlemen thing... I can't see a single reason to grab that? Anyone want to give me one? Beside.. its under R10 :P

James Bond Bloodstone isn't too bad actually. The gameplay is okayish, could have been better, but for me the lure was that the story continued where it was left off in the last movies. Still need to finish it, though. At worst, it plays something like Alpha Protocol, but just with better fighting and stealth mechanics and it's scripted.

Noo! Don't encourage the mere mortal impulsive Steam buyers. Sounds ok to me.

The year is 2027. The world as we know it is unraveling after fifteen years of economic meltdown and widespread global conflict over dwindling natural resources.

A once proud America has fallen, her infrastructure shattered and military in disarray. Crippled by a devastating EMP strike, the USA is powerless to resist the ever expanding occupation of a savage, nuclear armed Greater Korean Republic.
Abandoned by her former allies, the United States is a bleak landscape of walled towns and abandoned suburbs. This is a police state where high school stadiums have become detention centers, and shopping malls shelter armored attack vehicles. A once-free people are now prisoners… or collaborators… or revolutionaries.
Join the Resistance, stand united and fight for freedom against an overwhelming military force in Homefront’s gripping single player campaign penned by John Milius (Apocalypse Now, Red Dawn). Stand alongside a cast of memorable characters as an emotional plot unfolds in this terrifyingly plausible near-future world. Experience visceral, cinematic first-person shooter action as you fight your way across Occupied USA using guerrilla tactics, and commandeer military vehicles and advanced drone technology to defeat the enemy.
Multiplayer brings epic warfare to the online arena as infantry, tanks, attack helicopters and combat drones battle across huge, open battlefields. A rich feature set offering layers of tactical depth combined with a game-changing innovation in the multiplayer space will set a new benchmark in online warfare.

Not a bad special, especially for a game that is four months old.

Since no-one complained; lets leave the updating OP all the time with the specials and go with free-for-all to post specials here :)

My thanks to all that's been linking specials

With regards to Kontiki

In addition, the Kontiki software allows Gamespot or other customers to monitor the actions of users, down to the individual PC. “A Kontiki customer has the ability to track distribution of its content via the publisher and through the downloader: if it was used, if it was opened, et cetera,” Szelenyi said.

With regards to Kontiki

hmm, interesting. Thanks.

How do I get rid of this?

Re: FEAR3

Running FEAR 3 now...

Settings wise everything is 100% except Shadow and Anti-aliasing.

The moment Shadow goes above Standard or I switch on AA it drops my frames from 60 (vsync - I assume) to 28 - 32.

So I am going to go ahead and guess that is not my card not performing but simply bad coding there.
