I did a quick search in the "Rate the last game you've played" thread and two users rated it: 8/10 and 9.5/10
Gamespot and IGN rated it 7/10.
I think for that price though, I'm willing to give it a go. (as if I don't have enough games that I bought on special and haven't played yet :) )

Crysis 2 was removed from Steam by Valve from what I recall. Due to a contractual issue relating to the distribution of DLC on Steam and other content providers.

“Steam has imposed a set of business terms for developers hoping to sell content on that service – many of which are not imposed by other online game services. Unfortunately, Crytek has an agreement with another download service which violates the new rules from Steam and resulted in its expulsion of Crysis 2 from Steam."

and now a follow up to that :

Last June Crysis 2 was suddenly removed from the Steam store. The game was “expelled,” in EA’s words, because a separate agreement with another download service violated new rules from Steam, EA said.

This contract conundrum between Crytek and digital distributors seems to’ve been resolved: Crysis 2 is back on Steam as a $40 re-release. The Maximum Edition bundles existing multiplayer map pack content for the game. This version of the game is also available on Origin today, duh.

So the culprit in this drama isn't EA, as everyone would so eagerly like to believe.
 
No, the culprit is EA. Those rules from Steam have always been there. EA chose to violate them to get their game removed from Steam, so that Valve could be painted the bad guys, not EA. It's not new rules at all.

Steam has always made it a requirement that games bought through the Steam service should also have their content sold through the Steam service. EA violated this by selling the content in-game, thereby bypassing Steam and taking the whole profit for themselves.

My point was the removal was a reaction by Valve to an action by EA.

King Arthur 1 was really good, so I bought KA2 almost as soon as the sale went up.

Think total war, a bit slower pace, and magic.
 
Everyone I've spoken to in the office wishes that they had never played F3AR. As in, it was a terrible experience and co-op barely made it enjoyable. So I'll pass.
 
I highly suggest everyone bookmarks the SteamPrices site. It gives an awesome overview on all the games on special, and the best feature is it keeps track of game price reductions.

Also, F3AR was an awesome game. The best part was that once you finished the main story, you could replay as Fettel, which upped the enjoyment factor tenfold. At $8, it's unmissable.

I found the co-op great fun and quite replayable. The 4 player co-op modes are also very enjoyable. A survival mode (like Nazi Zombies but with more variety) which gets really hectic as you progress and the F*ckin Run game-mode is a frantic adrenaline rush.
