Yeah... I think I'm more of a stereotype in terms the genre of the music I make... Club, Deep House, a bit of RnB, and Hip Hop.

@Spooner and Murph: What do y'all think of Sony Acid Pro and Reason?

Both are decent workstations. Never really got the hang of Reason though. And I haven't used Acid in yonks.

Major issue with Reason is the amount of effort involved when you don't have a midi controller (nobody has that much patience)

Yeah reason can be seriously complicated and frustrating. Thats why I am using vanilla garage band for now. If I ever start producing and a large scale I would look at cubase probably.

iPad successfully jailbroken to 5.1.1! woop. Thought I bricked it there for a second, realised I was on a ancient version of iTunes. :p

Epic late reply is epic:

Thing with Reason is if you think you're going be slapping a few samples together and have a song within an hour, you're seriously out of luck. It's very powerful in the right hands though. Those hands just aren't mine :p

Did you see the iOS xbox app can now control your xbox.

Yeah you better off using Fruity Loops if you want to do anything in an hour.

Yeah, Reason needs a lot of attention. Just glad I eventually got the hang of it:D

*EDIT: Fruity loops is actually pretty good if you know what you're doing, but it's a bit limited. Using them simultaneously is a nice trick though (Fruity as the Master and Reason as the Slave).

http://www.itproportal.com/2012/06/14/new-app-enables-iphone-to-control-xbox-360/

Microsoft this week updated its Xbox Live app for iOS to allow users to control the Xbox 360 with their iPhones.
"Use your iPhone with your Xbox to connect, control and discover content on your console," Microsoft wrote in the update notes.
The iPhone can be used to access a list of most recent console activity, as well as play, pause, fast forward, and rewind content. A new Discover section will also feature recent additions to the Xbox lineup, Microsoft said.
The update also adds high-resolution images for the iPad, and improves authentication to make the app more stable for the iPhone and iPad. There was no mention of the iPod touch, though the app supports the iPod touch running iOS 4.3 and higher.
The free My Xbox Live app is available now in the App Store.
The My Xbox Live app for iOS first rolled out in December in conjunction with the release of a revamped Xbox dashboard.
In addition to the new Xbox 360 control, the app lets you: read and send messages to friends; manage your friends list and invite new friends; read and edit your full Live profile (name, bio, motto); change your avatar features and items with the avatar closet; and view and compare your achievement progress with friends.

Epic late reply is even more epic this time.

My DAW of choice is Cakewalk - always has been. But now that Cubase has a decent notation application I may move over to it.

Don't you love it when you are dying for a coke and a kitkat but are to lazy to go to shops when suddenly the chick in the office asks if you want anything from the shops :D
