Guys I need some advice.

Just got a call from Optical Express, they do Laser eye surgery, offering to do the surgery I got quoted £790 for last year this year, before the 14th of August for £490... both eyes. Doing it would mean I could stop wearing glasses but I would mean no Gamescon....

Nope it has to be done before the 14th of August (Gamescon is 16-19 August) timing isn't the real issue, money is. £490 is pretty much my entire Gamescon budget.

As a gamer I would go to Gamescon but then I don't wear classes and well its all up to you want to wear glasses for a bit longer till maybe there is another special on or get it done now and stop wearing classes and go next year to gamescon.

Dude Gamescon is honestly not going anywhere, I'd say get your eyes sorted and Next year is another year ;), your eyes are extremely important and rather get them fixed up now than having to pay more later on down the road when the damage has increased due to age and it costs an arm and a leg. :)

Tell me how the laser eye surgery goes or if it...hurts.

I only started wearing glasses this year (didn't think anything of it but then suddenly everything is high definition :eek) but it starts burning on my nose if i wear it too long and the sun causing weird reflections from the sides.

The eye has no nerves, which is why you can touch your eye without it hurting. So I dont imagine it will hurt, will be weird though especially if they fit me with something like this:

But will do.

I miss wearing shades the most. Also falling asleep on the sofa while watching tv without worrying that your are going to bend your specs.

Started wearing glasses permanently since I was 17 I think ...

I've heard one has to sign a form whereby stating if something should go wrong, they can't be held liable, and there being a small chance that blindness may occur.

BS. I've already been to a consultation and every one of these types of questions has already been asked by my paranoid wife. there is a less than 5% chance of visual quality not improving and around 1% - 2% chance of any kind of detrimental effects on the eye. Its safer than having a root canal done.

Wow! Not that I can imagine a root canal failing...
