900Mb update is just ludicrous though.
where do you update from?
Latest update was around 475mb (which is still a whopper of an update...lucky it was last day of the month aka 'download day' for us who gets capped 
)

When you open BC2 it automatically checks for updates and then prompts you to update. Can't get into the game until you update, nice huh?

Yeah...that's true! Just...the update wasn't that large...unless you missed the previous 3 updates
But all and all...it is rather annoying! Getting closer to being as bad as Burnout Paradise! hahaha!

Honestly any update over 200 MB I personally think is excessive! UNLESS its adding of maps / items etc. Your game shouldn't be THAT buggy that you need 1GB of updates. Its nuts.
Thats where I love Xbox so much, the updates are tiny.
PS3 is also annoying, 300 MB updates here and there is annoying.

Only if your internet is running. I turn it off and then just as it starts I connect.

Yeah dude. Your connection triggers that update window, it won't come up if you're not online, then when you check it's loading connect. And there you are: some annoying MP "fun" :/

Good point! But what also makes me wonder is that PS3 regularly needs to update it's "OS"...which Xbox does not....

Yeah, I find the Xbox software far superior to the PS3's. I way prefer the layout etc.
