That depends Adamz. For a pure gamer I wouldn't, its going to be at least 6 months before we see a more traditional game on the Kinect. For casual players its better. The game, i have Kinect adventures (bundled with the hardware) and Kinect Sports, are seriously silly fun but to spend that amount of $$$ for casual gaming is a bit silly. Like the Wii however i was amazed at how much of a workout the sports games give you. I did alot of boxing and can really feel my arms had worked. Similarly the track and field, which has you running in place, works legs. I am doing a whole hardware review for Issue 3 of the Gamer and i am working on a 4 part feature to see if done daily for an hour or so, the kinect can help with weightloss/fitness.

oh ok so its best to wait a bit then? not that im a hardcore gamer i like fun effortless games sometimes

Well I guess the price is bound to come down sooner or later. And with time the developers will get a better handle on the tech so i can see no reason not to wait.

I tried it at CNA in Canal Walk and fell in love with it. Plus I love the tech, i find the voice command and facial reqognision amazing. Also the input lag is barely noticable so I can only see the software for it getting better and better as developers get better at coding for it.

I must say that I think it is a bit of a nuts price they asking for Kinect. Almost the price of the console.

The price is a bit on the steep side. But if you look at the hardware, it tilts its self, so you dont have to keep adjusting it. It has a directional mic that works ok. The depth perception is pretty spot on as it the motion sensing, once you get use to it. But they could have made it 1K or even 1.5K but 2K is really a bit on the crazy side.

Agreed, sounds like a solid piece of hardware, but ya its a little steep, If they kept it around the R1500 mark it would have been more appealing.
