Dear Editor,

My name is Mike Sinclair and I witnessed the shark attacks off Fish Hoek beach.

It was surreal; the shark was enormous. I've never seen anything like it in my 28 years.

I could hear the man screaming "Help! Help! My leg is in a shark".

I tried to get my phone out to get a video of it but it was too hectic.

I reckon the shark ripped him into pieces because you could see a portion of his trunks floating in the tide once the water settled a bit. There was a cloud of red crimson water around the area approx 15m off-shore.

It makes me sick to know this could happen to anyone. Hopefully everyone learns and stays safe because his shreiking is etched in my brain.

RIP, fellow.
