Tsar, or what?

Besides, random assumption.. "Oh, I don't think this will be good whatever..."

So, this improved transport system will dissapear after the World Cup?
Even though the 70000 people being employed for stadium construction are only temporary. Thats 70000 people who could be without food were it on for the World Cup.
The money comming into SA from tickets, tourism?
Showcasing our country in the biggest sports event worldwide?
Improved sporting infrastructure for the future?

These are all a few things, that are going to be bad for the country, yes?

And if it is a complete flop and people get murdered left right and centre. Stop trying to be a big boy.

I'm with Lynus on this one. All his points plus that even if we get bad publicity it's still publicity. Um except if it's really bad like terrorist bombings and crap but I do believe that except for a few murders it will go rather well. :)

Showcasing the the countries most barbaric people to the tourists. I can see the brochure now. "South Africa! Get a once in a lifetime of opportunity of being raped and murdered and than have your shoes stolen"

And the infrastructure can hardly be maintained the way it is now, a more complex one will never last a year.

Your entire argument is based on the fact based around this one line:
Showcasing our country in the biggest sports event worldwide?
And if it fails? Then tourism will decrease, the whole world will see our lack of Infrastructure. And what do you think those 70 000 people are going to do when the visitors leave? They are going to get a little "Your services are no longer needed" letter and will be back where they where 2 or 3 years ago.

So, this improved transport system will dissapear after the World Cup?
What improved transport system? Have you seen the state of roads in this country? Our "improved" transport system can't hold a penlight torch to that of any European country.

Tsar, you again fail to see that no matter if a few toursist die, SA will still get the much needed publicity. After all, this is the biggest sporting event world wide. If I remember the figures correctly, something like 1 billion people watched the 2006 World Cup in Germany. 1 billion viewers? Can you comprehend that number? I know I can't. Anyways, I won't try to convince you further, your obviously blind to other peoples views and all you can see is your belief that it will crash and burn and everyone will die. Likely? I think not.

No terrorist bombings isn't the only bad publicity.

Tourists getting mugged/murdered.
Female tourists getting raped.
Mass Chaos on the roads and in/around the staduims.
There people are going to see this country, we are not going to be able to rely solely on the cencored crap they show on tv. It will be right there in their faces.

Say what you will but its happened everywhere. Even china with the olympics. All those jobs created by the event have ZERO purpose when the thing is done.

But yes Fenando is coming to South Africa. Lets all run around the room howling like horny little girls.

I don't like you and you need to wake the fuck up and grow up. I bet you don't even pay taxes at the moment so you don't know wtf is going on I am putting you on my ignore list.

And this is your entire agruement. "If" it fails. I see there is this blinkered viewpoint of : It will fail and nothing else.

BRT. Besides, how is this relevant? We don't need to, we are, unless you have not notices, any European country.

We the tax payers are going to be paying out our asses.

We are a backwards country that needs to wake the fuck up.

Enjoy yourself Tsar. I may not pay taxes and whatever else, however I doubt you do either. See where I am going with this?

Besides, would this not be the perfect oppertunity to do as you so aptly put it "Wake the fuck up"?

Who's with me? Were all gonna go hunt down each and every person in the AND and who even thought of voting for the ANC. It's there fualt for everything in this country.

Except Germany had the capabilities to do just that. They have one of the world leading infrastructures. Imagine the image of SA if Eskom can't supply electricity to the signal stations and the rest of the world miss the Game winning goal in the finals. That would be really, really good publicity.
