Getting nailed with a pistol (one shot) after I hit my opponent 3 to 5 times with a shotgun...

One of the first things I buy is a Kevlar vest and a Helmet so I, supposedly, have some sort of protection...

Try not go for the shotguns those are used at close range rather take hold of an assault rifle they are alot more accurate and easier to handle when running quickly around corners :)
 
Dota = Warcraft 3 mod "Defenders of the Ancients" or something like that.

It's pretty much doing WoW BG's in Warcraft 3 days...as far as I've seen. (rough estimate)

All you'll ever need is a Bullpup / Krieg 350 and you'll pwn the hood.

Run with your knife to go faster (or flash nade to chuck when you get close to a siege corner)

CS1.6 is the bee's knees!

Load some bots to play around and get used to it first.

Dota = Defence of the Ancients

5v5 Team based game, roughly 100 heroes to choose from, basically build up your character by leveling killing creeps heroes etc.

4 abilities each with an "Ultimate Ability"

Team work is issue

Winner is when the throne / tree of life is destroyed

Pretty much Good side vs evil side

Each character has a story behind him/her
