But why ?

It's a kief car - don't get me wrong...but surely if you save up enough lunch money you could get the Audi A3 2.0T instead?

+1 to that Voic0r. Or even a Gti if you want a robot racer. But why Ford? <---- Edit: Want my old eek smiley back, it had more of an impact :(

ST sounds better, has better performance, is more individual, is better value for money, is MUCH more comfortable, is better equipped AND I won't get judged as an Audi driver... :p

Oh, and it frankly looks better than the Audi.

*edit*

Prft, Golf. No individuality about that car on the road. It's just another Golf. And it's pricey too. About R50 000 more than the ST (yes, I got a good price...)

The way I always see it - There are tons of them on the road for a reason, a good reason, they are amazing cars :)

TBH There is no such thing as individuality now days when buying a car, unless you live in the karoo. You are going to see your car at at least every 2nd robot :p

You gotta go with what rocks your world, and for you it is the ST, and it is a sick car! Nothing wrong with your choice, each to his own I say. Also the A3 and the ST are different kinda cars, I would rather compare the ST to the Gti and you brought up a vaild point, its R50k more, which is a fuck load.

Oooh nice one!

Yeah I agree with you on the golfs. I'd never buy one - ever. Having said that, I'm on my 2nd opel so I'm probably not much better :P

I enjoy the Focus, Always have - since they used the old shape one for rally champs.

I just really enjoy the build quality of the Audi A3. I drove one now and then and really enjoyed it. My mate traded his A3 in for an S3 and man ...that's a different beast all together!

Only reason I suggested the A3 is because I thought they were around R250k where the ST / G5 GTi were around R240k.

Honestly the most sheepish thing on the road is the Golf 5 GTi. Grow a bloody personality ffs! :p They might as well throw in a free iphone/ipod into the sale of a GTi to complete the circle. :D

Incidentally, I performed a quick amusement-check on the German competitors to the Ford.

When specced to an identical level (i.e. standard ST + leather + sunroof + ipod integration), the cars cost:

Audi - R370 230 (may be a bit short - couldn't find the auto windscreen wipers on the brochure)
BMW 125i Coupe - R424 200 (*cough choke splutter*)
Golf 6 GTI - R350 501

Focus ST (metallic paint, leather, sunroof, audio, racing stripes) - R295 500.

*edit*

I agree on the build quality in the A3. Traveled in one of the managers ones (the 2l TSFI, as priced above) a while ago, and it's fantastic on the inside. Equally, the interior build quality on the Ford is generally bloody good, and those Recaro seats are quite literally the most comfortable sports seats I've EVER sat in.

*edit edit*

Voicy, go take some blood pressure medication before you read up on the prices of new cars :(

*3rd edit*

And for shits and giggles, I priced the Volvo C30 T5. Same engine as the ST, even better looking though. Equivalent spec is R358 800.

Spooner I don't blame you! VW drivers spend so much time pushing their golfs that they don't know what it's like to drive a normal car. So you're just sticking to what you know. :p

Hey Murphs, Im alive :P Sore throat and all, but still alive and kicking, cant wait for this long weekend.
Hows you been doing?

Yeah everyone seems to have the sore throat vibes, me included. Good ol post nasal drip and blocked nose for the suck.
Anyway, had a harsh Monday from hell, roll on that weekend please. Sooner the better.
