You should take that chip off your shoulder. There is alot of games with huge amounts of effort poured into them. Halo Reach, Demon's Souls, Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid, Batman Arkham Asylum even games like Fable or some of these Kinect titles shine through and through with the dedication and passion devs have for the work they do.

And its Money <> Effort.

If that were the case, why aren't any of them avalable on more than one platform? If it's not worth buying, it's not worth playing. If it's not worth the effort to make it for all the platforms (without cheaply porting), than it's not worth the effort to make at all.

The main reason pc games are crappy ports, why bother making an effort if a nice large chuck or ur revenue is going down the piracy drain? Much easier to develope AAA+ titles for platforms on which you know you will make more money. There is a thread in which me, neo and a few others discussed this at length.

The biggest problem is this "Why pay for it if i can get it free" philosophy gamers are adopting.

Halo 3 made MS $330 Million in revenue. Why bother making it for PC or PS3?

There in lies the problem. Money and greed. You ask why, because you want people to share in your creation, if that isn't reason enough to make a game, than you should be doing something elce entirely.

having anybody "sharing in your creation" doesn't put food on ur table, help ur kids through college or put petrol in your sports car. You can eat appreciation or drink praise. If i spend between 2 - 4 years working on a project i want to be well fucking compensated. for it, i want money. Cold, Hard currency that I can use on whatever I want. I don't want to live to work, if i have to work, i want to work coz i have to live. Its plain an simple capitalism and its what makes the world great.

Theres the moral decay again. You can work to live, thats fine and dandy, but what are you living for? If you live to make games, thats where greatness is born, but if you let it become what you do to live, it's time to find another job.

Morning dudes.

I drove all the way to my office this morning and realized that I left the office key at home. Fail.
