Fuck I hate it when that happens. I know the feeling all to well, will be cruising along the words flowing, falling perfectly into place and then snap. "toe soos n klei os se gat".

Yeah I saw your status update last night... it's freakin annoying, think I spent too much time assing around with the intro, by the time I got the lead in I was like :wtf:

Sounds like me who get into the details of the scene and then when it gets to the dialog or something that actually progresses the story im going /meh & :wtf:
 
lol yeah it's exactly like that. I feel the need to perfect everything before I carry on, because the better it sounds the more amped I am to go on with it. Thereby wasting time.

What I make myself do is write something once, like a paragraph or section or whatever, with out going into the details. The later reading it again, changing, tweaking, adding, removing. I go through this several times until im finally happy with it. Dunno if it works the same with music though.
 
Yeah Rif it's pretty intense man, especially when you going downhill :D

By the way guys, don't know if this means anything, but I was trying to realize a cool scene that I had in my head last night for my new GTA 4 machinima (lol :p) and all of a sudden I also was just like... Um..ok this is so kak..and I scrapped the WHOLE thing that took me 5 hours to make. Now I can't think of any cool ideas :/

Yeah it pretty much does. The last track I finished I wrote the bare bone themes and what not, then added all the meat over a week or so. This is how it should be done, although my old habit came back on this one. Obviously if you're going to obsess about every detail, you're never going to get done.

Yeah dude, sometimes you just have to get to a point where you realize that you are judging it way more critically than everyone else and you're never going to make it perfect. But you will make it much better the next time. You have to keep moving otherwise you might just end up spoiling it completely.

It sometimes helps to do something different, your mind works in strange ways. It usually helps solving frustrating problems for me that way.
