And there Omega goes and kills the TK with his last day of work :p

Speaking of which, if you don't have a pc, you not going to be able to kill the TK for some time?

Dude! I have a laptop and a net connection at home... ill be here. Ofcourse I'll have to balance TK with actual game time but Im sure I'll find some time for you guyz.

You should be more worried about when I got to the UK. It could be a couple of month before I get a home net connection.

Ive decided Beyond Good & Evil HD and Prince of Persia HD all for only R139.

Yeah I guess it will take a bit of time to get all that kinda stuff in place.

A mate of mine has been there since November with his chick, planned on staying there but is coming back next week. He says he fucking hates the place :D

Lol. Well I loved it there both while I lived there and while on vacation there over december. But it is not for everyone, I know of about a dozen people who left SA got there, couldn't cut it and came running back home with their tail between their legs. Plus me and Red have a solid support structure in Europe, with her dad and Grandfather there it should be a breeze compared to going over with nothing like I did the last time.

/Greets Tooken.

I was hoping to only be here till like 1 but I have a feeling that is not going to happen.

Yip, some people, my mate included, couldn't deal with the high price of living in the UK.

It is fucking ridiculous to live there. The costs are astronomical.

That and the people are a bunch of wankers :p

Ah ok. Aren't you feeling at least a little bit sad about leaving?

Lol, but there are wankers everywhere. I prefer the brits to most people here in SA, especially recently.

I found that people who say that are the ones who keep working everything back into rands. Yes it is expensive but compared to what you earn cost of living is no higher than it is here. There are also alot of places where its cheaper. Public transport, internet, electronics. Yes food is expensive but look at the food price here and check the quality of food u get there. I mean Electricity is jumping with another 30% this year. 30 fucking %, you know what that means? Every things price jumps, Petrol will be R9/R10 a liter again soon.

Rather than compare cost of living I prefer to compare Quality of living. Simply put, there is a better Quality of living there than here.

Ah ok. Aren't you feeling at least a little bit sad about leaving?

Nope, not one teeny tiny little bit. Of my 2 years here I have possibly 1 or 2 fond memories, the rest of it has not been a pleasant experience.

Dude, seriously, there are no bigger wankers than there are in the UK. The people are most miserable people I have ever met in my entire life. London was the worst though, they all like droids. Yorkshire has some so so people, you have to REALLY get to know them before they can even crack a fucking smile. I think its the weather that makes them so sour.

And as for prices, it really isn't fair to change back to Rands no, but even earning a Pound salary people still shit off. I worked with about 15 developers over there, and those okes battle, even on a good salary. Hardly any of them had cars, fine transport is good. Most of them don't own, or can afford to own a house because it is so expensive.

I guess working over there made me realise that we actually have it good in SA. Fine we have crime, but we are far better off with everything else. So our internet is a bit slower and costs a little more, who cares? At least I can afford a nice steak at a restaurant that I can drive to in my own car :p

@ wenz for yesterday's comment

Its interesting how different people experienced things differently. I loved my time in the uk and wouldn't trade it for anything. While I found some people to be as you described them I also found that it doesn't count for all of them. I can think of several people right off the bat who I counted as friends while there, I guess not really being a people person helps. :p

Yes their house prices are through the roof but is ours really any different, if you want a nice 3 bedroom house in a decent area ur going to pay through your nose for it.

I thinks its all about the mind set.

One of my biggest driving forces for going there is the ability to actually get into a school that teaches game development and getting into the industry.

Between 04 and 06 I live in the UK, having finished High School in 03. Between 06 - 09 I worked at a Medicross in Tableview and a Medicross in Kraaifontein. Between 09 - 11 I worked here.

Oh ok, I though what you meant was you've only be here for 2 years lol :D My bad.
