Well direct download using Chromes DL manager shot up to 46kb/s fast and is now climbing slowly but steadily at a rate of about 0.2kb every 5 - 10 seconds.

Figured out something truly bizarre yesterday; my ipod's battery kept running down incredible fast ever since I connected to itunes and turned down the prompt to upgrade to pod's firmware. I decided the otherday, while charging it, what the hell I'll download the update and now my battery nolong runs down when Im not using it. Strange but true.

What remains interesting is that while the DL speed has now stopped at 46KB/s refreshing here or even opening flash heavy sites does not affect the download speed what so ever, neither does the other sites load any slower than normal.... interesting.

That is strange..... now that you mention it, I was dowloading an album last night after the net cocked up, and it was averaging about 70kb/s - it's normally round about 50.

@Omega, they may have upgraded your line speed.

I am waiting for them to upgrade me to 10MB, but apparently they will be rolling out slowly but surely.

Yep normally even heavily seeded torrents, im talking 200+ seeders, hardly ever get up any higher than 30 - 40kb/s. Last nights, a digital copy of Cars since my nephew has watched both my copy and my parents copy so many times that I am unable to rip it properly, shot up to 88kb/s and stayed there.

@ Spooner, that may have been the case yes.

Most likely, although I have heard of guys thinking that Telkom upped their line speed, only to have it go back to original a few hours / days later. Lets hope this is not the case for you.

Yeah mine went as high as 80 If I remember, lets hope it stays there.

Yes lets hope so.

Just watched a Brink trailer, its looking pretty well balanced. There is a nade cooldown timer which is going to stop nade spamming and special abilities slowly regen but its power is drawn from a pixed pool so you can spam them either. This game is going to kick ass.

what do you guys think of Telkoms Closer internet bundle thingy at R369 p/m? Is it a good deal or should i rather opt for another ADSL option?
