And yes best way to wake up.:D

Seriously? How long have you been doing it? Coding is awesome, I should actually teach myself to do it, it would be way easier to make websites :P

Anyways guys, have a good one! I am off ^_^

I don't know, I think the comp is great. for me personally, I'm more a lurker than a poster. I hardly post ever.
Having been given a push (incentive) to post, I am responding to topics rather than just reading and am now throwing in my 2c.
When you start putting in more time and personal opinion into something, you automatically become more invested so to just up and leave afterwards is a difficult thing to do.

When you join a forum when only regulars are chatting it becomes difficult to chip in and your opinion often gets overlooked.
just something noticed having frequented many many forums and only have had staying power at ... 3 in total now. One of which still only mostly lurk.

unless you have no soul

It does depend how big and active the forum is as well.

I prefer lurking on a forum for a while to get a feel for it - at the very least it will be a couple of days before I post anything - but I always, always post in the introduction thread. After that I'll keep an eye out for newish threads so I can get my say in relatively early. Sure, in the beginning you get overlooked a bit, but after a while - provided you don't go out of your way to piss people off - if you actually say something worth reading, the regulars will start paying attention.

Once people get to know you a bit, its always easier to say your say.

It goes without saying that it's a process that takes a little time - if I happen to be on a forum that has comps and giveaways I never ever sign up for a comp within the first couple of weeks after joining, and I pay very careful attention to the rules/guidelines given. Anything other than that and I become nothing more than a leech. I also don't only post around competition times, I feel that if the forum gives me something, it's only fair that I give something back.

All that being said, I usually only invest my time in one or two forums - anything more than that is too time-consuming.

Exactly :D

The easiest way to ease in, I've come to realize, is to post in the PC Hardware section and request recommendations for upgrades :D
