My dad opened an account with HSBC once but now they want a minimum of 500 Pounds in before they open it.

Dude ... do you have any idea how much work is involved pretending to look busy?

I have a Muder Death Kill list....

Omega who are you opening an account with?

Hai Murph

HSBC has a passport account that is ideal since we can use SA address instead of UK address.

Yeah they are fucking loopy, saw that one also. Once you have a UK address it gets ALOT easier and most of the accounts are free or have small fees but some nice extras. Natwest has a account that give free rail cards which equals WIN in my book.

Kewl Omega, I was just wondering since I used Natwest whilst there and never had any issues with them, a few friends where not happy with HSBC - apparently minor things like the service in the bank itself wasnt always that great. But then I used to do our banking for the one shop I worked at and they where with HSBC and we never had any issues with them.

Natwest I found was great when I moved, they immediately changed my address as soon as I took them a letter from my new employers stating where I would live. Made it so much easier to change all my other details with other companies.

I also used Natwest while there back in 04-06 and had no complaints with their service. One of my (then) girl friends had HSBC and she was happy with their service. I'm not overly fussed about the in branch service, I hate going into a bank so internet banking is my preferred channel of contact with the bank. We will probably apply for 2 of these Passport accounts and then once we get UK proof of address documentation open a joint account with Natwest or something else.

Yea internet banking is the only way for me as well. I only had to go in a few times, mainly address changes and once when I closed the account to come back.

Hey hey, were's tooks? i think i owe him some positve rep.... once we get a quote from his buddies i think we might be sorted with IT services

Omega I will see if I cant find the company I used to get back, they where good, my boxes arrived on time and not a dent on them.

SevenSeas Worldwide - I used them when I came back. Problem is We are going over in two phases - the initial phase with only the bare essentials (Xbox, Playstation, Games, DVDs etc) and a secondary phase once we are settled in which the remaining crap will be sent. We are limited to about 30kgs of luggage Which is about enough for clothes and the like, hand luggage will be laptops and a few other small items.

When I went over the first time I had one backpack of stuff, it was the sum total of all my belongings... How I long for those days. getting my Halo Legendary Editions over is a HUGE concern.

waiting for my MEGA homestyle made cheddarmelt burger to arrive. It is MEGA huge and tasty!
Covered in mushrooms, sliced cheese, and mushroom/cheese sauce, onion rings, gerkins, tomatoe and MEGA beef patty on a MEGA roll.

Disclaimer: To be enjoyed only once every 3 months because this thing can kill you.

I couldnt remember who I used, but speak to the guys, they should be able to store the items for you and ship on a later date. That is what I did with mine since I spent 6 weeks in Australia and only I could claim my stuff. I asked them to hold on to it for 2 weeks (I paid 50 pounds extra for that) and then ship it. It arrived 2 days after I got back to South Africa.
