speaking of movies - decided to stop going to cinema's altogether and just wait for them to release on dvd.
Will be cheaper to buy the good movies on blu ray and can keep them instead of wasting money at cinema.
Choices these days are either 3D in big cinema, or the tiny kuck ones - both super expensive options.

The only problem is waiting Waiting to watch Source code, X-men, Super 8, Hangover 2 now.

I think the one where it says "A slave obeys" shouldn't have any broken links. And then "A man chooses" should have the link completely broken. The chain has to hang off the one side.

yeah with movie ticket prices ranging from the R25-R65 I rarely go there anymore. Also their prices on drinks and popcorn is out of this world.

Yea I just want to see the Senna movie on a big screen. But so far I cant seem to find out if its even going to be shown here. And I really dont have what it takes to wait much longer for the dvd.

it's R100 for tickets (for 2) for a non 3d movie. (in a small cinema)
R15 parking for that time
Petrol money to get there
R50 popcorn/smartie/coke combo (this is non negotiable with me - have to have)

end up spending around R200 bux for a movie, and that doesn't include dinner or a nice breakfast!

We actually have it quite good with movie ticket prices I think. In Aus single tickets go for around R70-100 for a regular movie.

in relation to salaries earned should maybe add in.
UK and US the cost of the movies are also staggeringly high, but not so bad when you earn their currency.

With decent home entertainment being more affordable these days, and screens getting larger, would think that cinema's would try and charge less to make it more worthwhile for people to keep going to a cinema. I know I want to still go and watch things and not wait, but that price tag is just to steep to justify it.

Agreed, in the uk before I left it was about 4 - 5 pounds per ticket - that was before 3D.
